Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Guess you haven't seen her, either... Damn, weren't we supposed to be making sure she doesn't get in trouble?" Iruk grumbles.

"Don't blame her, she's right. Most people would do what she suggested. But we're not most people... right?" Ihra says, tearing up.

 

"We're a special group of people. We're special, because we can do anything we want as long as we're together." I say happily, hugging Ihra.

 

"That sounds a bit cliché, but whatever... I hope this is all just in the past now."

 

"Yeah. Let's head back to the others and continue, uh...our quest?" I ask, letting go of Ihra and heading toward the door.

 

Ihra gets up.
"Sure. I mean... let's try not to wake this beast again, though. It's a bit of a sensitive chord." She says, smiling as she catches up with you.

 

"It's probably best to keep the hatchet buried." I say, heading into the elevator at the end of the short hallway.

 

"Yeah." Ihra says.
"Yeah, let's go back. Maybe try to help make up for the wrecked generator, get a move on again. I don't know about you, but I don't know how a goddess would die. I didn't think that world had godslaying weapons."

She blinks to catch up.

 

"What? Godslaying weapons?" I ask, turning the elevator dials.

 

"How else would Reflet just die? She was a goddess, and then her lands and her life are gone, just like that!"

 

"I think it was an inside job personally." I say. turning the centre dial and teleporting Ihra and I to the palace doors.

 

"Huh? Like, she was betrayed? Someone'd still need a special weapon to pull it off!"

 

"And of course, she'd keep those weapons with her to stop them from falling into the wrong hands. Her killer was obviously close enough to her to be able to acquire the weapons though, and once he had one. Shink." I say, drawing a finger across my throat at the end.

 

"Maybe if someone finds her lair we can get revenge? Figure out who killed her?"

 

"But where would her lair be? She's a goddess of fire...so, a volcano?" I ask.

 

"If her followers lived in and around volcanoes, she'd be somewhere more hidden, and probably hotter. Maybe the sun?"

 

"How would she live in the sun? Everything there would just melt. Besides, it'd take her ages to fly to the sun and back." I say.

 

"True. What else? The planet's core?"

 

"Maybe, actually. I know that if you go deep enough, it just becomes magma and molten mineral." I say.

 

"Huh. Maybe Abigail can take a look?"

 

"Yeah, we could always ask her." I say, pushing the palace doors open to reveal a shifting portal.
