Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Something tried to get me to kill Aj!" Ihra shouts, winded and panicked.

 

"I'm glad you didn't," Myria says, trying to soothe her daughter, "Had you, you would've fallen prey to a hive mind and lost your sense of self."

 

"Did it try to do the same to Artemis?" Ihra asks, worried.

 

"No, but she would also be dead had you decided to accept it's offer, as would everyone in our group, even this city. That, or mind controlled," Myria says, "I'm glad you know to make the right choices."

 

"I broke the helmet and they bailed."

 

"Very good. I don't think we'll see much of them for a while." Myria says, going back to comforting Artemis.

 

"May I ask what happened here?" Ihra asks, worried.

 

"Artemis is worried she failed to fix your friendship troubles and we'll have to go home and abandon this adventure." Myria says.

 

"Well, I don't want her to go home, but... yeah, I still don't like Aj very much." Ihra replies bluntly.

 

This seems to cause Artemis to cry more, who stopped to listen.

"You can't force someone to like someone else." Myria says, trying to soothe Artemis.

 

"If it makes you feel any better, Sgavrinn will keep you company, if it comes to that..." Ihra says, saddened.

 

"It seems a little inhumane to take a creature away from it's homeworld and natural habitat." Myria says, still trying to comfort Artemis.

 

"He doesn't have a home, though..." Ihra says, trying to comfort Artemis.

 

Artemis tries to say something, but as soon as she looks up and sees Ihra, she just cries more.

"We'll be happy to give him one then." Myria says.

 

"Do... you have a way for me to get to Aj?" Ihra asks.

Sgavrinn, waking from a nap, slides over to Artemis and curls around her and Myria.

 

"He's in the realm of shadows currently. Do you know how to get there?" Myria asks.

 

"So was killing yourself not an option?" I ask, jotting down notes of our conversation.

 

"No, I don't..."

"I don't want to kill myself. I don't have any blood heir..."

 

"I see. Are you some kind or oracle then?"

 

"Hm..." Myria contemplates.

"Here, I have a few spare." Stephanie says, walking over and offering Ihra a red and black crystal.
