"I dunno."


"Oh, poor Ihra. I feel like I should warn her, but perhaps I'll just let things fall like they did with Vei. I can't believe you still cling to that it was an accident. I know there was ill intent."

 

"Took you long enough. Taking out Vei was the smartest thing I could've done to make turning this realm mine all the more easier. I knew she had ties to the resistance, which is why cutting off the head would make the body fall," I say, running Shadow Katana through my hands, "Now, let's see how smart you are."

 

"Damn. Do you keep those memories?"

 

"Again, wasting your time. I spoke with Ihra while you were gone; seems you wanted her and not Vei, but took what you can get. Now, you aren't conquering this. That's not very genocidal-demon-like."

 

"I try to remove them..." Stephanie says, shaken.

I laugh, "You really are stupider than I first thought." I say, turning and leaving.

 

"Same. They say I'd be a good gambler since I have a killer poker face." Lidnis says, holding the doors open for you.

 

I leave through the door, heading back to the group.


In another time, Lidnis lies beheaded on the floor, her blood spilling everywhere as I crush her head in my hand.


"Did I miss much?" I ask, smiling and walking over to Ihra.

 

"If you're using magic to do so, make sure to be careful."

 

"It's scarier removing them than gaining them really..." Stephanie says.

 

"Because of the anticipation of possible failure or the fact that you have to think about them?"

 

Stephanie nods solemnly.

 

"Does it only effect you mentally?"

 

"Technically, yes, but...if your brain thinks you got shot, your body does too." Stephanie says.

 

"No, just still thinking back... Lidnis got me to... um... reflect on the past. I still worry you'll threaten to kill me, then mother won't be there."

 

"I guess that's the way it works with magic. Not normally. Normally, it's the other way around. You never had any memories of getting shot, did you?"

 

"You shouldn't listen to her, Ihra. I'm your friend, and I regret killing your mother. It was an accident, if anything I was scared she'd harm Artemis and I." I say.

"I didn't kill her out of fear or anything though, I wanted to get to know her better really. Accidents happen, and it's more than a human error." I add.

"Not really." Stephanie says.

 

"Good."
I smile.

 

"I can listen to her if I want. She's not lying, anyways. I know you're a friend, but I'm not saying that's how I feel yet... You say it's an accident, but sorries don't bring her back." Ihra sighs, hugging you.

 

Stephanie smiles back, calming down.

"She might not be lying, but I feel like she may be bending the truth to turn you against me," I say, kneeling down and looking up at Ihra, "Ihra, please, trust me when I say I didn't mean to kill Vei."

 

"I know you didn't mean to kill her... Who you did scares me more." She sniffles, letting a tear run down your back.
