Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Shadow Stephanie is shadow you. It'd be stupid if she didn't protect her form."

 

"I know, but she does things that are a bit...suspicious. Like, one day she can be nice to me and help me with my alchemy, while the other she pushes me in front of a truck before saving me the millisecond before it hits." Stephanie says.

 

"She's toying with you. Tell her it's too far if it's too far."

 

"I'll try, I know she's not terrible deep down."

Myria and I walk back over, "I hope we didn't miss anything important whilst we were absent." Myria says apologetically.

 

"Yeah, actually. We were discussing shadows and possible reasons you'd want draconians to be able to summon them. None of them good or kind."

 

"I don't, really. If anything it'd just add to my bad reputation." I say calmly.

 

"You just said you'd hope they'd figure out how to summon shadows. There's no way for that to be as offhanded as you're making it seem."

 

"If they summoned Shadows, they'd be killed. I didn't actually want them to be able to summon them, they'd be a danger to everyone." I say calmly.

 

"So why mention it in the first place?"

 

"I dunno." I say.

"So what are we going to do next?" Katie asks, curious.

 

Ihra returns to the group.
"Oh, hi Katie! Here, you should come over here!" She says, shaken but happy-ish.

"I heard Lidnis was looking for you. Maybe you should head to city hall for a bit."

 

"Ok!" Katie says happily, walking over to Ihra.


"Oh, sure. As long as it isn't a trap or something." I say, heading in the direction I think city hall is.

 

Ihra brings Katie to where she last saw Aqui.


City hall, which is now lit up, has their doors open. Inside, the imprisoned draconian from earlier sits at a table.
"Your reputation is impressive. I hope you realize what consequences you would've faced lest the tides of time turn against you."

 

It seems Aqui is no longer where Ihra met her.

"Whoa, look at these cool trees!" Katie says happily, touching some of the larger saplings.


"What do you want? Time isn't something I exactly have to give out in pretty gift baskets." I ask.

 

"I'll be back in a minute. Stay here."
Ihra runs off, looking for Aqui.


"Why did you imprison me, and why was I to be tortured at first?" Lidnis asks, toying with the intertwined gears on her staff.

 

Ihra soon finds Aqui working in the now healthy looking fields, working on watering the crops.


"I was simply protecting my friends from being murdered." I say, spinning Shadow Katana idly.

 

Ihra runs up to her.
"Aqui, can you take a minute off real quick?"


"Torturing me protects your friends?"

 

"Oh, uh, I guess!" Aqui says.


"Keeping you and your ilk away from my friends protects them." I say, stabbing Shadow Katana downwards into the ground.

 

"I found Katie!" Ihra says happily.


"Then why don't you dump Ihra on the side of the road? Seems like a thing you'd do with that attitude."

 

"Whom?" Aqui asks, confused.


"Because I made a promise to help her, and not only that, she and her friends are nothing like you." I say.
