Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra's trying to comfort Tirra, and Ragnyon is looking at the flowers Ihra planted in the park.

 

Stephanie decides to walk over to Ragnyon.

"Hey...do you know where everyone else went? Or how I got here?" Stephanie asks.

 

"You seemed to come in on your own. Everyone can yell you weren't yourself, but everyone's doing their own thing. Sgavrinn's been crying for Artemis because he can't reach her telepathically, but everyone's just taking it easy other than that."

 

"All I remember is being in the realm of shadows last. I'm guessing that's where Artemis is." Stephanie says.

 

"I wonder what they'll do with the lava. They could probably build a city in the lava if they had the technology to." I think aloud, before looking around for a place that resembles an eatery.

 

"Well, that guy over there asked me how it would feel to melt in lava and die, so I'm just thinking about how it would feel to die in other ways."
He seems depressed about it.

 

"Maybe you should look into going back for a bit, and bring Sgavrinn with you." Ragnyon says, laughing a bit as Sgavrinn gives Stephanie puppy dog eyes upon hearing 'bring Sgavrinn with you.'

There doesn't seem to be any open restaurant, but there's four tables with chairs off on the edge of the town square park. They've all been picked clean of crumbs, though.

"Dying in any way is horrible. Don't worry about it, or it'll come sooner than you want." Iruk says, trying to comfort Crystal.
"We're all here now, right? That's a start."

 

I go to the tables and chairs and sit on one of the chairs, before pulling us my journal and drawing sketches of Brisingr.

 

"Yeah."
Crystal smiles
"Yeah."
Crystal repeats more enthusiastically.

"Don't worry about it too much, Crystal."
I say, smiling.

 

There's not much to draw, but it seems to have attracted the attention of a child.
"Wha's that, mister?"

"We all good? We should check on the others, too. Make sure they're okay from the outburst with Stephanie." Iruk says, noticing a lack of the rest of the group.

 

"Lets."
I agree, and simultaneously look for the group and wait for Iruk to lead.
Crystal waits for one of use to lead.

 

"A journal." I reply, jotting down notes on what happened in the past couple minutes.

 

"I-I don't know how to though. I don't have any crystals to teleport there, and the only other way I could get there is if a Shadow opened a portal." Stephanie says, worried.

 

Iruk heads towards Stephanie, then pauses.
"Hold on... What all happened while we were dinkin' around inside?"

The child makes short hops to try and see what you're writing.
"Wha'ssit on?" They ask, accidentally making you mess up a letter as they knock their snout into a table and then sit on the ground, sulking.

"Can't you use telepathy? There's no reason for them to just ditch you here..."

 

"You're asking the wrong person."
I say, noticing what he notices.

 

"I can try." Stephanie says.

Stephanie puts her hands to her head, clearly focusing. After a while, Stephanie concentrates more and more, before blood starts pouring from her nose and she ends up fainting.

 

"My journeys with your race." I reply, ignoring the messed up letter.

 

"I guess there's no harm in asking..."

Iruk, Thirteen, and Crystal approach Stephanie.
"Hey, uh... Kinda surprised to see you here."


Iruk glances at Thirteen.
"What the hell is with our timing...?"

Ragnyon calls for Ihra, who rushes over and starts healing Stephanie.
When she's healed enough, Ihra shakes Stephanie awake, Iruk and co. behind her.
"Are you okay?! Where's everyone else?"

"You're an adventurer? Where'ja go, mister? See any cassles or anythin'?"

 

"A-Agh...my head..." Stephanie groans, "The others are in the realm of shadows...I couldn't reach them...agh..."

 

"They just ditched you?! There has to be some way to reach them..."
