Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"So, we want your perspective. What happened, that fancy stuff... 'cuz everyone else is dead."

 

"What? Everyone's dead?" Stephanie asks, shocked.

 

"All those workers at the power plant? No survivors."

 

"I'm sorry...I shouldn't have lashed out like that...all those people..." Stephanie starts crying again.

 

"We just want to know what got into you. However, you're still not wanted here. Call it a miracle, but Lidnis got rid of the kill-on-sight order. Hopefully crap like that doesn't happen again."

 

"T-They reminded me of my dad...sorry, that's a bad reason..." Stephanie says, crying.

 

"Knew your reaction meant you had a shitty intro to life. You know why they got angry, don't you? You tried to help, broke it, then they got angry before you blew them all to pieces."

 

"Y-Yeah..." Stephanie says.

 

"I hear you've been tortured in the Realm of Shadows. Is that true?"

 

"Yeah...as punishment..." Stephanie says, shaking.

 

"Then I'm done. Stairs are behind you to the right, and we'll figure out how you work off your wanted-ness here after. At least, you will. I'm quitting forever, and hell is that overdue..."

 

Stephanie shakily gets up and heads up the stairs.

 

"Figuratively forever."
I add.
"Why do you want to know?"
I ask suspiciously.
Crystal thinks before answering.
"...No reason..."
He's pretty obviously bluffing.

 

I place a rune on the pouch and de-summon it, and then place the tiny horns in a small pouch, before going back to exploring the city.

 

"Crystal, it's okay to tell us. We look out for non-bios as non-bios ourselves."

The city seems to have entered a bit of a better state. More draconians are walking about, and those who were wounded are starting to recover. City hall has light, and the entries are reopened.

The light of the city... erm, lava... is blinding at first. The city has some signs of life, more than it had when Stephanie first entered, but there's less tension in the air.

Sgavrinn walks up to and whines at Stephanie, unable to find Artemis.

 

Stephanie hugs Sgavrinn, crying again.

 

Confused, Sgavrinn curls around Stephanie, whimpering.

 

Stephanie just hugs Sgavrinn for a while, before looking around for anyone she might know.
