Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"So, you want to lose the only person defending you? I suppose I could kill you right here and now, but I... actually wouldn't care, if you keep lying to me."

 

"Alright fine. I overcharged it to blow it up. They deserved it after what they did to me..." Stephanie says.

 

"Killing them for telling you to leave? You expected them to bow to you for breaking the generator?" The draconian asks, becoming frustrated.

 

"I tried to fix it! They were nothing but rude after all I'd done." Stephanie says.

 

"You broke it. Why should they NOT be rude?"

 

"I didn't mean to break it! I was just trying to fix it! It's not like I was intentionally trying to break it! I would've begun research into why it was broken had they not been so mean to me!" Stephanie shouts.

 

"It broke because you didn't take the safety lock off first. Then you overcharged it and blew it up."

A guard comes up behind the draconian, bow drawn.
"Fool..."
"Wait, don't-"
The arrow is let fly into Stephanie's shoulder.

 

There's a slight glow from the eye sockets of Stephanie's mask, and she quickly slides to the side and catches the arrow, before rapidly firing a paralysis dart at the guard.

 

It bounces uselessly off their armor.

"Let her talk."
"She's a murderer!"
"I SAID, LET HER TALK!" The draconian snaps.

 

Stephanie already seems to be halfway up the buildings in the alley, jumping from wall to wall.

 

She's slowed in time, forced to take the fall as she misses a jump she clearly should make.

 

Stephanie realigns herself in the air, before kicking off the wall and landing on the guard, shooting a paralysis dart into his neck at point-blank range.

 

She lands on half a dozen blades, the other five guards glaring at her as the sixth falls.
"I wanted to help, but you came back. You shouted, and now you're going to get yourself killed. So, leave or die."

The guards let her off their blades, stepping back.

 

"I'm tired of this pitiful city and their worthless kind." Stephanie says in an odd tone, eyes glowing red behind her mask. She pulls out a switchblade from her jacket, but as soon as she flicks it open, it turns into a sharp, black dagger. Dark limbs explode out of Stephanie's wounds as she makes short work of one of the guards with her knife.

 

With the tick of a clock, Stephanie disinterates along with the guard she killed.

"And never come back..." She growls.

 

A Shadow is left in Stephanie's place, distorted.

"You're not very smart, are you?" Shadow Stephanie(?) says, before beheading the draconian in a millisecond.

 

Rewinding for privately discussed reasons. Do not expect this to happen frequently.

Looking down, there aren't any guards.

"There's a shadow inside you, girl. Get out while you still can."

 

Stephanie catches herself in the air.

"What do I need to do to make it up to you, huh? Would it make you feel better if I told you I was sent here to apologise?" Stephanie asks, annoyed.

 

"No, but it'd be a start. Does the shadow realm let off criminals who say sorry?"

 

"I've already been through enough there. This is just something I have to do." Stephanie says, annoyed.
