"Have you tried?" They mumble.

 

"Well, yes." Tirra says.

 

"And is it still there? Also, why would you anchor us into the lava if we're trying to stay out of it?"

 

"Well, no, it melted. I was going to use it to build up from so you could be pushed away from the lava." Tirra says.

 

"Well, there's my point. We just need to get out of Brisingr..."

 

"Oh, so we should shift focus to evacuation?" Tirra asks.

 

"No; where would we go?"

 

"But...you said you needed to get out of Brisingr..." Tirra says.

 

"We do; but where would we go?"

 

"Uh...maybe I could ask the Shadow King for assistance in relocation?" Tirra asks.

 

"No, I heard horrid things about him. I'd rather not."

 

"What? He's not horrible!" Tirra says defensively.

 

"He doesn't have the best reputation with our people. Recently, I heard he even imprisoned Lidnis who went to help with two wounded friends of his. She's free now, but the aid doesn't make us forget."

 

"That was just a misunderstanding, I can assure you. I think he's even been working with a draconian called Ihra." Tirra says.

 

"Ah, that too. He caused the resistance to surrender, and we had to obey the Hive Master to the word until Virei'tus woke again. I was surprised Ihra had still held out without her mother and her allies' aid."

 

"What? That doesn't sound like something he'd do...why'd he make them surrender?" Tirra asks.

 

"Vei died, and with her half the intel the resistance had, then they couldn't defend their base of operations. Killed by his hand and his naivety."

 

"W-Wow..." Tirra says, shocked.

 

"Needless to say, he's not popular right now." The worker says flatly.
"Hope you can pardon those words, I know you serve him."

 

"Well...I don't see any alternative methods of getting you to a new city other than the Shadow King and you finding a new city through exploration." Tirra says, disappointed.
