Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I dunno. Red flowers?" She says, pointing at roses.

"A draconian. Who starved, so we're trying to find an alternate power source."

 

"Those might be roses. Do you not know a lot about flowers?"
Crystal seems ever more curious.

 

Stephanie takes out a yellow crystal that crackles with electricity.

"Will this work?" Stephanie asks.

 

"Just that they're pretty."

"I dunno. You're free to try." They say offhandedly.

 

Stephanie throws the crystal into the generator.

 

Crystal smiles at the comment.
"That's fair. You've seen a lot?"

 

One of the workers grabs the crystal, puts it into a slot, then steps back as it slowly starts.
"If this works, I'll be damned..."

"Yeah. All kinds and all colors! Also, all smells..."

 

The crystal crackles with electricity, giving power to the generator.

 

Standing behind Stephanie, I smile at this comment.

"Yeah, I'd imagine so. I haven't seen too many, being from a plain rock and all."

 

"I'm not quite sure, but I have a growing suspicion they are at the remnants of Brisingr. They did say they were going there before."

I teleport to the draconian Stephanie was talking to.
"I heard something about evacuation from here. I have a proposition for you."

 

The generator slowly rotates, creaking, then the crystal shatters, causig everyone nearby to be blasted back.

"You should see the big gardens! They have names, but there are tons of pretty plants there! Once, I saw this red and green flower, and..."
Ihra's rambling.

"Oh, yes, you had to make this more impossible. How quaint..."

"Huh? I'm not even in charge... but, what's the deal?"

 

Stephanie lies on the floor for a bit, dazed, before getting up.

"Maybe try this one." Stephanie says, summoning a crystal the size of her torso. The electricity it generates causes the hair under her hood to stand on end.

 

Crystal listens on, clearly interested.

 

"All the better for an epic showdown."

"I can evacuate everyone to my kingdom, in exchange for them providing services. Be it by working, trading goods, serving in the army, or anyother way of contributing. Another tradeoff in this deal is that you will have to provide me with a draconian test subject to do research on."

 

"Will that even fit?"
I ask from behind Stephanie, walking closer.

 

Stephanie lets out a slight scream as she jumps; clearly unaware of your presence previous to you speaking.

"Don't do that!" Stephanie says, annoyed; her face covered over by her hood. A plain looking voodoo doll is gripped tightly in her hand.

 

"Miss, can we not blow this place up?" A dazed worker asks.

"...I've seen flowers that eat meat by melting things with acid, ones that just smell nice, some that make a really good tasting gel; and that's all in a place with birds and snakes and really tall trees! You really should try to find one sometime!" Ihra says happily, taking a big breath.

"You're forgetting that humans and lava tend to not mix..." The prisoner groans.
"Surely you must have any other plan?"

"We would trade crafts for a new home and supplies, but I can't know if we'd send a test subject. We aren't keen to the thought of torture."

 

"Hmm..." Stephanie ponders.

Stephanie pulls a yellow potion out from her cloak, downing it before absorbing the energy from the crystal. Crackling with electricity all over, Stephanie puts her hand on the generator, channelling hundreds of volts of energy into it.

 

"Yes, I do have another plan. One of you two lures someone from the group out of Brisingr, and then me and the remaining person jump the prey."
----
"I'll negotiate this further with the person in charge. If you may, please take me to him." I say, pulling out my journal and quill and drawing sketches of the surroundings and of the draconians.
