"I guess that makes sense, especially if they don't have eyes."

 

"Maybe he is, partially."

 

"Fair point, though we're in the same situation as Terrae; we don't really know enough to be saying the things we are. Or at least, I don't."

 

"You were right the first time. 'We don't'."

 

"They can be quite deadly. One minute you're opening a seemingly normal chest, the next half of you is inside it." I say.

 

"What if they bit something they couldn't chew?"
Crystal asks.

 

"Still... I suppose we shouldn't be figuring out our standpoint in front of the god we're trying to aid." Iruk says, a bit nervous.

"So... Ruby's doubt may have saved Stephanie's life?" Ihra asks.

 

"Well, I'm just stating facts. It could be living without food or water. It could be hunting things. I'm not sure, though."

 

"Which is my point. Hell, I'm tempted to go back with Terrae if he allows and see if I can figure out a bit more. None of us have much to work with as it stands."

 

"Yeah, not really..."
I seem to think about something.

 

Iruk glances at you before just waiting for Terrae's response.

 

"They'd still try to consume it; maybe even storing it inside of itself to break it down." I say.

"It did." I say.

 

"Good job Ruby."
"I'm not homicidal."

 

"Thanks, Ruby." Stephanie says, smiling.

 

Crystal looks at his hands, thinking.

 

"If it's any consolation, I got tricked by one once and had to burst my way out of it." I say sympathetically.

 

"It has actual organs, so I don't think it would be that hard to get out of it anyways..."

 

"I'm pretty sure it's just more teeth that try to chew you up or compress you." I say.

 

"Oh. Wow, that'd be scary."

 

"It's not so bad, it's just a mimic after all." I say.
