Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra sits down, looking at the golem suspiciously.
"Can I replace this with a pet? Like, one I know?"

"Ihra, just accept the gesture."
"I don't understand golems. They creep me out."
"Yeah, you've made that clear."
"Shaddup!" She scowls at me.

 

"I could probably take on the Golems, if he summons more."
I say with confidence.

 

I have no idea what's going on! This is perfect, so I will be in character?

Character Name: Lazarus
Race: Technically a hybrid cyborg bird, but made to resemble extinct dinosaurs (because birds are dinosaurs and stuff)
Ability(ies): Creative, somewhat smart, abilities that come from being essentially a spinosaurus+dakotaraptor
Blade, Bow, or Tome? (Choose up to two): Blade and Bow? Do teeth count as a blade? Not really a bow. He just uses his surroundings to his advantage?
Position in community: A scientist/park manager, and an artist
Additional Details and Lore: Clumsy and dumb (albiet academically smart). Born as the first of many 'non-avian' dinosaurs to be put in a 'dino-zoo', he is the earliest and most primitively-built non-avian dinosaur who was supposed to be placed in the zoo. Oddly, because they used a majority raven DNA to create him, he gained a very human-like intelligence. His jaw, the center of his spine, and some of his internal organs were replaced by inorganic versions due to them being deformed at birth. He grew up suprisingly human-like (albiet with a spinosaurid-like posture), and eventually merged with their society. Some sort of magic power activates when he is in extreme rage, however.
Relative location of settlement: An isolated island that grew to depend on science instead of magic.

Yes, techs are allowed. Vei is an example in and of herself.

Who to introduce you with first is a better question on my end.

Accepted. I recommend you read some of the lore, if not all. It's deep.
If you choose not to, your character will be given basics as time goes on.

Don't worry, if you get caught up in a big fight, Ihra can buff you to the point you're on par with the draconians.
(Albeit after you get used to phasing between dimensions, depending what she does)

I guess I'd be exploring and stumble upon you guys or something? I don't have any idea how to inject myself. The RPs I made a while back were all about managing entire nations or galactic empires. Individual individuals are not something I do well with but this roleplay seemed awesome.

Are dinosaurs considered dragons?
I mean, you have things like Yi qi...
(Yes, there is an actual dragon wyvern in the fossil record now. It's a dinosaur too! Not a pterosaur, or a bat, or anything else, but a real, actual, dinosaur. Isn't that AWESOME?!)

He does have some magic, but it's locked away in his brain until he can't control his anger, causing him to lose control of his mind and try to kill everything (well, every animal (including humans)), which could be a minor plot point nudge nudge insinuation actually probably no wait iunno
He only gets that angry when he's dealing with awesomebros or BANDits or something like that

You're wandering back to your office; park inspections came up clear. For a morning, it's quiet. Relatively speaking, at least; more quiet than usual would be a better way to put it. You figure that maybe you'll see if the news is actually new, draw something, or at least think of some way to kill time when you get there.

One of the zoo workers seems to just be getting off break.
"Hey Lazarus, good to see you doing well. Did you hear what they found over on the mainland?"

 

"And that's where me being fast comes in."

It's something very related to something I said when Eras flew off without me to find Daras.

"Technically that's not taking a- I... I'm just gonna stop."

"More like what they're dealing with; some things they're calling 'draconians,' apparently there's ten of them. They're like dragons, but they walk much more closely to a human. They even claim they're from a world. Isn't that just absurd? Anyhow, apparently they have extreme power and they're at odds with each other... I can't remember any names, but there was a fight near Gargantuan very recently. Seemed like a two on one ambush, but the one did a decent job holding the others off. There was a little footage of the fight, but it looks like they use magic."

 

"Wow, that's... odd. Not as odd as naming a geographical location after an adjective for size, but I'll let that slide. Now, when you say 'they claim they're from a world', I'm assuming you mean from a different world. In that case, I am interested in the Multiverse." His voice sounds fairly mechanized (his pharynx was replaced in order to support human speech).

 

"Y-yeah, sorry... didn't sleep well last night. They didn't elaborate, just that there was some kind of rift over a field that only lasted long enough to drop one of the things out. Apparently more came after, but none of them just got spat out like the first. We haven't figured out how the others got here, but-"

Alarms blare.
"Get everything and everyone in cover! Something's making a beeline to this location!" a security guard yells through the loudspeaker.

 

"Oh god *bleep* it!" (His voice automatically censored itself) "*bleep* this stupid *bleep*ing automatic *bleep*ing censori-" The trombone-like sound of multitudes of Parasaurolophus tears through his earholes. "DID THEY HAVE TO PUT THE OFFICE NEXT TO THE *bleep*ING HADROSAURS WITH THE HUGE *bleep*ING INSTRUMENT HEADS?!" Lazarus presses a multitude of buttons on his keyboard. This is the fastest he ever typed before. There is an audible (yet very faint) sound of his fingers whipping through the air. His keyboard is in two pieces on their sides (as theropod hands can't pronate). A putrid odor fills the air, a natural method of pushing the exhibited animals into the bunker. He tries to make it to another bunker. Everyone can hear loud bleeps running down the hall.


(The image of Parasaur in the video is vastly outdated, but this is the scientist's best bet of what this magnificent (and freaking loud) animal sounded like.)

 

You make it most of the way to the bunker, but even if you ran faster than you had before, you wouldn't have made it.

A flash over the walls, a scream. Laughing, then two blurs leaving the area.

Dare you investigate what just hit the ground? You're the only one not in a bunker at this point.

 

Making an educated guess that yes, he was in fact screwed, and yes, he won't make it to the bunker which will make him less screwed, he decides to investigate.

 

Those draconians just described?
You've got one unconscious in the middle of your zoo.
Bits of armor are lying around along with seven books (with all the runes, you assume tomes) and four blades.
It's breathing. And looking at you... As much as something can look with half an eye open.

"I... uh... damn..." is all you can make out through their heavy breathing.

 

(There's a major stutter and shivering in his voice. He's unable to comprehend what is happening) "Well, I guess that was some very convenient timing. As soon as I know who you are, you appear!"
