Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

He just finds more and more people, until eventually he comes to a wall. There appears to be a small opening to the side.

 

"You can serve her and have most of your old life. Of course, you can't go back in the past, but if you want to work false memories in, we can do that."

 

Enqo tries to pass through the opening without using his abilities as a ghost to pass through the wall. If he can't go through the opening, he passes through the wall.

"Aj, come on. Mother's heading underground."


"ERAS? ARE YOU OKAY?!" Keila shouts, voice echoing throughout the cave system.

 

I grow a pair of Shadow wings and glide into the caves.

 

"Eh, I think I'll pass." Helianthus says.

"So, what do you guys do here?"

Enqo and the slime just barely squeeze through. Through the opening, there is a massive river of blood. This doesn't look like its part of the mine.

 

Night vision being your friend, you see several starved wind dragons laying dead in some caves, and you feel some radiating dark magic coming from deeper in an adjacent cave.

"Stasis, cloning, genetic splicing. Everything to move towards the perfect army."

 

I reply telepathically, "Just about... as I said, I haven't used magic for a long time."
Keila can see a few starved Wind Dragons, but they are alive. The cave itself seems quite grand for a normal cave...
...and there are several tunnels leading out of this cave.

"This is very strange..."
He continues through the place he has just discovered.

The cave also seems to be surprisingly grand for a cave in a frozen island inhabited by Wind Dragons. While there are many side paths, you can tell from Eras' darkness where he is.

 

"Poor things." I comment as I head through the cave.

I immediately head towards Eras' location, "Eras!?" I call out.

 

"Sounds interesting." Helianthus says, before continiuing on.

Eventually, Enqo reaches the banks of the massuve blood river. There is no visible way across, and it appears to be very deep. There is no current. The slime bubbles, urging you to cross.

 

"That's good. These caves look like a palace... almost. Did you do that?"

The operator stops you.
"Before you go, is there anything we can help you with? Soulcore implant? Artificial limb or organ?"

 

"I do believe I'll be gine. For now, at least."

 

"You have half a soul. You sure you don't want us to fix that?"

 

"And how exactly will you fix that?" Helianthus asks, inriguied.

 

"Soulcores, though risky, enable full reconstruction of a soul. Encasing the broken soul inside allows recovery of the rest, though it is destroyed were the soulcore to break."

 

"I've heard of those before. Something about destroying a soulcore to kill a draconian." Helianthus says.

"And does it offer any other benefits?"

 

"Yes; you can hide your soulcore anywhere, and none can trace it from your body. Were you to leave it in a vault here, you could be resurrected multiple times from your rebuilt soul. However, yes; if your soulcore is compromised, you will become a body without a soul."

 

"Yes, I'm here."

"Can I swim across?"

"I had to. I had to reinforce the caves to make them strong enough to not collapse. The spell also connected the caves into one, and it's also like this."

 

"Sounds good to me." Helianthus says, nodding.

The slime simply bubbles. That's definately either a yes or a no.

 

"At least I'm 100% sure I can't die from this..."
He tries swimming through the river of blood.
