Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I believe Mavis was a serpentine."

He passes through with ease, and begins to head down. Everything is tinted with a green, propably from toxic gas. Something slimy oozes out of the ground. So far, nothing too different.

 

"Huh. Not many of those left. No ground to tunnel through here in the Void. Consider yourself lucky."

 

"And why is that?"

 

"There's no survival advantage for serpentine bodies here. They're usually hunted down by the quadrupeds for food since they can't easily get away."

 

"That's odd. It seemed like Mavis was an Alpha or something."

 

The dragon manages to move it's head just enough so the lance hits its snout instead, which seems to make it very angry.
No sign of the island collapsing.

Enqo carries on through the mines. Even as a ghost, he gives the slime a disgusted look and tries to avoid it.

 

The slime ignores Enqo and continues to bubble. Enqo continues down, eventually beginning to hear screaming from deeper within the mines. More slimes ooze out of the walls and ground and bubble.

 

"That could be, but that's unlikely. Their only means of physical combat would be biting or choking; neither easy to do to a quadruped beast out there. Perhaps we need to send a party to do a little research on them."

The lance seems to teleport back to Rina's hand, and she keeps hurling it at the dragon's eye, Keila opening a fissure below it while it's slightly distracted.

 

"I'd be more than glad to join said party." Helianthus says.

 

"It's nothing more than speculation from a guard who stays in the same two rooms half their life. Don't quote me on that." He chuckles, going back to his book.

 

Helianthus shrugs, before going out of the library and exploring the palace.

 

Most of it seems to be hallways lined with decorations, but after a while, behind the library, you find a dining hall rivaling the size of the library, a kitchen, and a room lined with tech and draconians in stasis.

 

Helianthus enters the dining hall, curious.

 

Half of the tables are filled with draconians eating bread, it seems... It smells a bit off, though; nothing like freshly baked bread. At that, it smells more like blood...

 

Helianthus walks up to a draconian and asks, "What is that?"

 

"Should have expected this from the state of the place above..."
He continues walking, though more cautiously, even though he's a ghost.

The dragon's lightning condenses around the surface of the water. The surface suddenly freezes, and the ice starts to spread.
However, it doesn't notice the fissure beneath it.

 

"Rations." They mutter impatiently.

Keila uses whirlpools to break up some of the ice as magma erupts from the fissure.

"Eras, this dragon is getting out of hand... if I go much further I'm endangering the Wild Islands and my people. Do you have any way to send help?"

 

Eventually, he comes across an elevator into the lower levels of the mine. The screams emnate from below. Enqo notices that the slimes are following him. They seem to be curious as to how Enqo isn't suffocating.

"What kind?"

 

"It doesn't taste like anything you'd want to eat, but it covers you for a week." They snap, clearly not thrilled about their meal.

 

Helianthus leans in close to the draconian.
"I can trade you some better tasting food if you'd like, by my standard, if you'd like." Helianthus says, clearly intent on getting the ration.
