"Huh?"
Ihra seems confused, but lets it drop.
"Yeah, she's nice! Probably a bit overworked, though."

 

"How is she overworked? Does she go around solving paradoxes or something?" I ask.

Artemis glares at me.

 

"The Timekeepers' Council wants to induct her into their numbers; she may be smart with her powers, but she's too weak to equal her competition."

 

"Does she want to join?" Artemis asks.

 

"Yes, it's a high honor. It's just... I hope she doesn't kill herself trying to get in."

 

"How could she kill herself?" I ask.

 

"Paradox. Just like someone I know."
Ihra glares at you.
"Still, she wants it pretty badly."

 

Artemis facepalms.

"Well...maybe she should go for it?" I ask.

 

"She is."
Ihra smirks at Artemis.
"You didn't think I didn't catch that, did you?"

 

"I didn't want Aj bringing up sore memories." Artemis says.

"Well, she's dead now. Let's go do something other than lament about her." I say, annoyed.

 

"Easy for you to say; she's not your mother." Ihra mutters.

Rineth rolls his eyes off to the side.
"Are we about ready to go, then?"

 

"I think we should leave before any fights start." Myria says.

 

"In that case, are we missing anyone?"

 

I look around, "I don't think so."

"What about Eras and...uh, the others?" Katie asks.

 

"Let's give them a moment to come back. Ragnyon, would you mind going out and looking for them as your spirit?"
"Not at all. I'll make sure they know we're ready to leave."
Her spirit form flies off towards the forest.

 

"So I guess there wasn't a rush for us to get back?" I ask, glancing at Artemis.

Artemis glares at me, "At least we're with the others now." She says.

 

"You really shouldn't leave things to our imaginations." Ihra says, glancing at Abigail nervously.

 

"What are you implying?" I ask, offended.

Abigail's still unconscious.

 

"The first time, it was more of a very near death encounter. The second time, my soul was split into two bodies, and the other body died."

 

"I dunno. Abigail had some colorful ideas, though."
