Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We're up against people that can do that easily? I can protect myself. I know magic."
Crystal says with confidence.

 

Matthew continues down the path to the Darklands when he suddenly decided to head south, "I don't know, that place just gives me the chills. Something about that stupid forest. When Matthew makes it to the coast he can see where Brisingr used to be, "Such a shame..." Matthew then heads down the coastline towards Runetrel (I think that's how its spelled.), when he steers the HoverRail straight into the water, but the HoverRail never sinks, instead it floats on the water. "Huh, didn't think that that would work." Then he heads south on the water, towards the Lost Kingdom. Several hours in he starts to get bored, "Pshh, stupid legend, there are no monsters here. If there were I would be dead by no-" Then a large tentacle pops out of the water and starts flailing about, "Well that will do the trick!" He pulls out one of his weapons, a old bow from the Island, and starts to shoot the beast. It lets out a horrible screech and then dives back below the water. "Coward." He then slings the rifle back over his back and continues on his way. Then, he spots a destroyed port town in the distance, which at the time, was called Port Efran, "Yeish that's ominous, now all I need is some creepy music, a headless man, and some fog to set the mood." Matthew slowly enters the town, still on the HoverRail, rifle ready. Eventually he realized that it's empty, and continues on his way. "Ok so in the vision she was by a lake. That will be fun. Trying to find a lake."

 

"That's the point. I've sort of gotten tired of reading books and cutting up dummies in the palace. I just figured I'd go on a walk out here." Helianthus says, stopping.

I turn around, flame still lit.

 

"There are much nicer and safer places to walk. This part of the Void is resentful; I would break the queen's law if I have to if it means you turning back to safety."

"I just feel that Artemis is a little young for that, but whatever works, I guess."

"Thank you. Is this enough for three?"

"We're up against someone who enslaved ninety five petcent of their own race single handedly. And gods. No pressure."

 

"She might be slightly younger than I anticipated, yes, but she's found someone she truly loves. I won't stop her." Myria says.

 

"Fair enough. I still think it's a bit odd that she loves a creature that naturally kills, but I guess you've got a killer and a healer in that couple."

 

"I guess he'll help her skills." Myria says, chuckling.

 

Matthew stops in the middle of a clearing and hops off his HoverRail, "This might be a bad idea but, eh, worth a shot." He then proceeds to start screaming, "HELLO! HELLO CAN ANYONE HEAR ME! HELLO!"

 

"True, true." Ihra laughs nervously.

 

Crystal smiles.
"Well, we've got a lot, too."

 

You see a ghost standing behind you.
They are wearing a suit.
"Before you mention that you can't talk to the dead, I am only 99.9% dead."

Hryth shakes his head.
He grows two more flowers.

You hear rustling from a bush nearby.

 

Matthew spins around and grips his sword firmly, "Who's there? I promise there is at least a 82 percent chance that I won't attack you!"

 

"Thanks. You want to come see what's going on, or are you staying here? A lot of people are getting ready to leave or are doing other things."

 

Two sharp pincer-like plants appear from behind the bushes.
They don't look friendly.

Hryth doesn't seem to be able to communicate yet.
Anna, who was near Hryth, says, "I think you need to eat the flowers to communicate. I haven't tried it myself, but it seems to be how it works."

 

"That's how it works, but I know he understands me. I'm going to take these back to a couple wind dragons who seem to be starving, see if I can figure out what's wrong."

 

"Both you and the Wind Dragons need to eat the flower. Otherwise, you won't hear the Wind Dragons."

 

"That's why there's three of them. Besides, couldn't Hryth just grow and eat one of the flowers at his leisure if he wanted to listen in?"

 

"Please do not. I have a one use instant teleport spell out of here. If I sense I won't be able to handle it anymore, I'll turn back instantly. That's a promise." Helianthus says.

"Are you the only one here?"

 

"I wasn't aware of that, forgive me. I will let you be, but let me escort you a ways lest one of the less ruly creatures wants to consume you."

 

"Thank you, may I ask for your name?"
