Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I quickly unsheathe Shadow Katana and aim for your head, only to suddenly stop inches before contact is made.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were someone different," I say "Someone who looks like you has been tormenting my friends and I back in my world, I thought he'd followed me here."

 

"Does that mean you're done threatening to kill everyone? You'd better answer yes, otherwise...how should I put it? 'You'd learn just how dangerous I can be' "
The last part I say mockingly, and I crack a grin, as if I'm enjoying this.

 

I give the wizard a glare, not quite fully trusting him yet.

"For the sake of progress, I'm going to say I'm done threatening people" I say begrudgingly. "You can't trust anyone these days, I'm not one to hug any stranger I encounter."

"So what's your magical sector?" I ask.

 

"Sector?"
I look slightly confused
"Might you mean..."
A bright flash of light, and I am gone. No one else seems to have seen any flash, however.
"Light," you hear as but a whisper in your ear.

"Now then, Vesius, was it?"
The group is gathered, attention is focused.
"I'm listening."

 

I summon a small stone Golem in both hands, and place him on the ground.

"I'll make sure we're not disturbed." I say, unsheathing Shadow Katana.

I cut out one of my eyes and place it in the head-socket of the stone Golem. It blinks once, then the Golem appears to come to life, walking toward the group. A small trail of dark blood trickles from my empty eye socket, as well as the eye in the Golem, staining it's grey body slightly.

I wander a little ways away, my one eye glowing as I search for any signs of danger.

 

A little uneasy, I take a bigger step toward Ihra.

 

The Golem surveys the party with its one eye, paying closer attention to Ihra and Vesius than the others.

The Golem looks back at me intently, I nod, and the Golem continues to survey the party.

 

I look at the Golem.

 

The Golem looks back. After a moment, it takes a few steps in my direction.

The Golem picks up a small rock from the ground.

 

I keep eyeing the Golem, not exactly sure what it's going to do.

 

The Golem switches his attention onto 13 more than the others, occasionally looking in my direction.

The Golem holds onto his small rock tightly.

 

I cease to look directly at it, instead keeping it in my peripheral vision.

 

The Golem shows signs of distrust with 13, but keeps observing the party nonetheless.

 

"Anyways, I will just stay out here for a while, just to see whether it finds anything to eat."

 

"It's not like... Okay, let me put it this way- I had no say in whether or not I have one of these. I carry it around so the people trying to kill me don't have it. They have one too, they carry theirs for the same reason. Clear? Hope so. As for the fastest way to kill someone..."
I glare at you. Color drains from my eyes.
"...Ever heard of True Decay?"

"There's a... Really big problem... headed our way. One of Ihra's pets reached out to me to warn me. The four draconians we're going against won't just be out for blood, but together, their abilities increase exponentially."
I look at the sleeping Ihra.
"So we're going to need people... to keep her alive. She's how my group stays in for the long haul."

A shield forms around Ihra, and I turn to the golem.
"May I ask what that's meant to do for us?"

 

"True Decay? I don't know what you're denying about things getting older, but regular decay is probably as true as it gets" I say smirking.


I reappear behind the Golem. I have a few scars and blood over me, yet I seem relatively fine. An amulet hangs around my neck. It's chain is made of intertwined vines, and a green crystal pulses softly in a holder made of wood.

"It's a small observation Golem of mine," I explain, "I was using it so I don't miss out on anything whilst I was fighting-" I pause for a moment. "Whilst I was dealing with an oncoming problem I sensed." I say wearily.

"It's eye allowed me to see what was going on whilst I was absent, since it is my eye after all." I say, picking up the small stone Golem and reclaiming my eyeball from it's head socket. The Golem falls limp without the eye in it's now-bloodied head socket.

 

"With decay, you fall apart. You're dead, no coming back. With True Decay? No memory, no trace, no sign of you ever existing remains."
I try to ignore the golem.

 

"That's ok. Well, as far as I know the Darklands has not been attacked yet, though there definitely are signs of one being there at some point. Brisingr is where they were last. In fact, the only places they haven't caused any trouble at all is the Darklands and here."

 

"If they are caught up in their own war, why is Xephyr following you? Is she not part of it?"
She looks confused.

 

I ponder this as a dark aura surrounds the Golem in my hands. I throw the Golem up only to have it disappear in a void of darkness.

"I've heard of this kind of thing before," I say, "Removing someone from time and reality altogether."

I think back, and say "I guess one of the ways is removing them from the great flow of time itself. Few Shadows can boast this feat, but it's not uncommon to those of the magical arts, especially those who dabble with time travel and such," I explain, "I'll try my best to explain how it works. Imagine time is an ever-flowing river, and the 'fish' in that river is everything that has, and ever will, exist. You quite simply need to cast your rod into the river and pull out the 'fish' you want, this will then remove them from the timeline entirely."

"When I say few Shadows can boast this, it's because the tools are hard to come by," I say, "Shadow Katana is so sharp it cuts holes in space and time itself. I simply use it to 'Swim' through the river, and appear at a desired location in present time. Getting out of the flow of time requires cutting another hole in space and time, which is technically a paradox if it doesn't lead into reality again once you're in. Simply go through this and you're removed from the timeline." I further explain.

"The only way you can survive out there is through magic. You'll need specific magics or magic gear to survive out there, as it will simply create a "Ghost" of you whilst you remain in space and time." I struggle to explain, "I've done it only once to truly remove something I hate, and even then I almost erased myself too" I shudder.

After thinking for a moment, I say "I try not to think about the logic behind myself- both of us, arriving here. Strange things happen outside of space and time itself, and it's very hard to co-ordinate re-entry into specific realities and times."

After explaining this, it seems to weigh on my body along with the battle scars. I fall to the ground, barely able to hold myself up. The amulet surrounding my neck glows brighter and pulses more frequently.

"Maybe this is what you're true decay does to people..." I struggle to say.

Blood begins to drain from my eye socket.
