Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I continue along the path, looking around.
OOC: Is the fog still there?

 

There's one at the bottom of the stairwell.

...The other one looking at a statue inside is more conveniently located.

OOC: To Eras.

Keila cringes upon hearing the sound, then looks around for anyone else in the group.
"Do you know where Hryth is right now?"

 

OOC: Yes, there is, but there is less, so Terrae can see further and more clearly.

You see more and more houses lining the path. Some seem to have been heavily damaged.
Eventually, the path leads into a market square. This area seems to have taken a lot more damage. Most of the stalls have collapsed and there are visible cracks everywhere.
You can also see where fighting likely took place. There are skeletons, some of which have shattered, who seem to have been using the stalls to defend themselves.
Beyond the square is the wall of the city again. Once again, there is a large gap, though the wall seems to be made out of thicker material, as you can see some large chunks of the wall lying nearby. There is much less fog up here, and you can see the stone path continue through the gap to what seems to be a large palace.

"Hryth should be near the Birthlake."

 

Helianthus goes to the one looking at a statue and says, "Excuse me good sir, may I have a word it's you?"

I walk over to one of the skeletons, look at it in the eye, and ask "Tell me, what happened here?"

 

The guard seems to be half-human, half-snake.
"Sure, I suppose. Is something out of line?"

 

"Ah no, I do not mean it in that tone. Id just like to ask if there's some kind of way for me to go killing some...less desirable creatures. I'm sort of itching for some." Helianthus says.

 

"Fun is usually left for Mistress. I suppose you could always ask to go back to the world you came from; none of us hold it in high regard, and I doubt anyone would stop you from spilling blood there."

 

"That would be rather tacky. Besides, I volunteered to serve the Misstress, and I feel that it would be too demanding to ask for another leave." Helianthus says, "Say, what's beyond this palace anyways? As in, outside of it?"

 

"A lot of angry stuff. It's like space, but gravity is extremely odd. Step off the paths she's made, and nobody but her is safe. Traps, dungeons, abominations outcast from every world... You name the danger, and it's out there."

 

"You think I can go out there and kill some abominations? I've been meaning to test a couple of things out."

 

"I... Wouldn't count on it. Nothing can save you from them if things go south, and getting back on the path isn't the most straightforward thing."

 

"Is it safe enough if I stay on the path?"

 

"Yes, but nothing goes near it. It's kind of like holy ground for them; they know not to go near it, ever, for any reason."

 

"Ah, I see. And where exactly does this path lead to?"

 

"I... don't know. Nobody's ever followed it long enough to find the end."

 

"Well then, sounds like something I can do. You know where I can get some provisions to last a couple of days? I'll be using a little trick so that I won't have to carry all the provisions at once."

 

"We don't store food here, it... has odd reactions to The Void over time. You'd have to get something from another dimension."

 

"That's...going to be a problem. Well, how do you all eat anyways?"

 

"We don't. Many of us have bound to the Void's energy and we sustain ourselves through that, removing the need for food."

 

"How about for those who are not bound to the Void's energy?"
