Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

After running a short distance, the cat unwinds and sinks back into the Earth; dropping Yver in the process.

 

"That just tells me you need to train more."

There's claw marks, uprooted crops, and a few stray rocks that were probably dug up and scattered about.

 

Yver whimpers and curls up.

I examine the claw marks.

 

The marks aren't very deep, but they're extremely inconsistent, suggesting whatever was here has been in numerous fights.

 

I look around to see where the claw marks start, in case they tell me where the creature came from.

After a while, Yver uncurls and looks around in case the cat has reformed.

 

The marks are in almost every direction, suggesting whatever came made multiple passes.

 

"I'm guessing it could have been a Wind Dragon. But then again, it could be anything."

 

"They don't live to the south, do they? Still... Why don't we check the Wild Islands. Wind Dragons are no pushovers, something has to be forcing them out."

 

"To the south? How do you know they came from the south?"

 

"My name is Dominus Terrae, God of Destruction. It is a pleasure meeting you, lake."

HH nods.
"I'll have a break in the library." He says, before taking all his stuff and going to the library.

 

"That's the reported direction it came from, according to my people."

"Well, enjoy yourself. Consider grabbing a book on immortals and sealing."

 

"God of Destruction? That's interesting... we haven't heard of you before."

"In that case, it likely won't be the Wild Islands, as they are to the north-east. I don't know what is to the south of here. After all, I didn't know Aurilon existed until recently."

 

"Fair point. We may still want to look; wind dragons are still an issue for my people."

 

"Very well. But what if the thing that attacked comes back while we're gone?"

 

"I'll put up the storm barrier."

 

HH nods before leaving, and then when he gets to the library, searches for a book about sealing.

"Ah, it is because I come from another realm. Which realm, I do not remember."

 

There's no sign of the cat anywhere around.

 

There's an entire section dedicated to combat knowledge. The book that discusses sealing is a chapter in "Slaying Immortals; the Misleading Title." It seems when they take massive amounts of physical damage, they go unconscious and form a crystal seal around themselves. Only if you break this seal can you truly kill a god.

 

"I don't mind going across the land again. I could get revenge, your brother could get freed, and you could see your family again. Everyone's happy, right? Except the pile of bodies, of course.

 

"Yeah, but you're still forgetting something; there's two of us and tons of them. Furthermore, we don't have a healer. We wouldn't stand a chance."
