Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Katie's still asleep; though she doesn't seem hurt or anything.

 

Crystal pokes his eyes out of the water a tiny bit, and checks on what everyone is doing.

 

Stephanie looks out over the lake. Artemis rests on my shoulder whilst I sit next to her and use a small device. Abigail throws and catches fireballs.

 

Crystal then sinks back to the bottom of the ocean, lays down, looks up, and just rests.

 

"Destruction. Not native to here.“ HH says, not giving a reason. He continues to circle.

 

"You're avoiding the question."
He flicks a few pieces of gravel at you from his broadsword, but otherwise continues to circle as well.

 

"No, it's okay." I say, shivering. "I need to get used to the cold."

 

"You won't get your revenge dead. Here, gather a few logs. You'll get used to it."

 

"A-alright." I say. "I suppose I could get used to this with time." I look for dry grass and sticks in the plains. If I find any trees, I start snapping branches off.

 

There are several trees. Opal holds a small flame, making vision less of a problem.

After gathering a pile of sticks, Opal lights the fire.
"That's not so bad now, is it?"

 

"Thanks." I say as the fire warms me. "You don't mind the fire, do you? From what I've heard, you'd rather be in the cold."

 

"I didn't mind the desert. A little fire is fine."

 

"Okay." I say. "Come to think of it, we may have to do a bit of work in a town. Most things in Asrodonia aren't expensive, but boats are a bit pricey. I know you don't want to steal, so I'll see if I can find honest work first."

 

"A boat? Oh, right, my brother! Gah, we're too far away, though... When they captured me, I was with my brother. They split us up, but if I was with him, we could... well... we could make a boat on our own. It wouldn't be fancy, but it'd work."

 

"Which one?"
HH continues to circle, but he brandishes his sword.

 

"You have a brother? Why didn't you tell me before? We can go rescue him from his captors. Was he captured by the the tribes, or someone else? Just tell me where, and we can bust him out."

 

Yver seems surprised, and backs up slightly. It then moves forward and reaches out with one root.

"I'm guessing nobody saw where it went?"

On going towards the centre of the lake, it seems that it is deeper than it looked. It's deeper than any human.

 

"Tribes. To be honest, I didn't exactly trust you very much until you brought the doctor. I'm sorry, but I usually try to play it safe. I didn't tell you in case things went south between us."

"That's what everyone being in hiding would imply. There are claw marks, though, so it had to be some kind of beast."

 

The cat meows, and gets ready to pounce.

 

"Yeah, I don't mind. In fact, I'd be surprised if you trusted me when we first met. I'm glad you finally know my intentions now, though. Do you want to rescue him?"
