Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Hi. Stephanie and I wanted to tell you something."
"Tell me what?"

 

"If you're going to come with us, it's not going to be easy." Stephanie says, glancing at you.

 

"How so?"
"Do you know what we're doing?"
"Yeah. Helping Ihra. Which is why I'm tagging along."
"Do you know how we're helping Ihra?"
"Do I need to know?"

 

"We're going to fight hordes of dangerous enemies and go up against a god 1 million times your size." Stephanie says.

 

Crystal looks around, to Katie underwater, to Ihra, to Artemis and Aj, and then looks back to Stephanie.
"You guys clearly are alive! Why are you worried about me?"
"Because some of us are alive by the skins of our teeth. Or, neck, in my case."

 

"Not all of us are here, either. Some of us have died." Stephanie says sadly.

 

That clearly strikes Crystal, as his expression changes to a more depressed one.
"Well, I'm not very worried about that!"
Crystal attempts to get himself in a better mood.
"And if it's a god we're going up against, we'll need everything we can get!"
Now I seem dejected, due to using that same phrase while talking to Stephanie.
"So I'm going with you guys!"
Crystal seems proud of himself, and I seem to have nothing to say.

 

"Alright, but this is at your own risk." Stephanie says.

 

"Okay."
Crystal seems to have calmed down a tiny bit, while still staying confident.
"Thanks for telling me."
He smiles.
"No problem..."
Crystal sinks to the bottom of the lake.

 

Stephanie lets out a heavy sigh.

 

"Ugh."
I say, putting my head in my hands.
"I really hope he doesn't go off hurting himself during our adventure."

 

"I don't want to have to look after him, but he's so insistent on coming...as if we could use more innocents to look after." Stephanie says.

 

"Which one and why?"
The arrow is deflected off his broadsword, and Kyle simply continues to circle the arena.

As the sun sets, the temperature drops significantly; moreso than it did in the desert.
"I'll help get a fire going if you'd like."

 

"I'm... not too sure how to feel about it, honestly. As stated before, I'd hate for him to get hurt, but he does have his own bag of tricks, including Voidfiller."

 

"Voidfiller doesn't want to interact with us, or him, in any way though. He's just watching; and I don't think he'd care if Crystal got killed." Stephanie says.

 

"True. If he's experimenting, he's probably sticking to it. But Crystal still can use magic."

 

"I don't know how skilled he is at it though; I doubt we could leave him to fend for himself in battle." Stephanie says.

 

"Neither do I. Let's just hope he fights by one of our sides if we battle. He does seem to like shape-shifting a lot..."
I trail off, thinking about something.

 

Stephanie just looks out over the water.

 

I lay down, and look at the sky above.

In the water, Crystal glances at Katie to see how she's doing.
