Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, sorry. Not comfortable? Which form would be better? You, perhaps?"
Thirteen(?) says, perking up a bit more.

 

"N-no, that form's fine." Stephanie says, smiling.

 

"In that case, if you want to know things, then sit. It feels good talking to someone after a long while."
The non-Thirteen gestures to the chair that he is not sitting in.

 

Stephanie sits in the chair, "Who...what, are you?" She asks.

 

The chair feels more comfortable than it looks.
"Who am I? Name's Voidfiller. Well, that's what you'll get to know me as. What am I? Eh..."
He seems hesitant.
"A scientist. That seems like a good answer."
Minor pause.
"Smoke?"
He asks, and a cigarette appears on the table in front of Stephanie.

 

"I don't smoke; not that it matters in the mind. How did you discover Crystal?" Stephanie asks.

 

The cigarette disappears.
"Hopping between worlds, as you do,"
He starts, waving around his hand.
"Looking for something to do, something to test, and I come across this beautiful bunch of rocks. Now, I haven't seen these rocks anywhere else. 'Course, I've seen rocks like them, rocks that change color because something happened. Now, I report to myself and only myself, so any experiment I do can take as long as I want it to. So, Crystal was my next experiment. I create him, teach him how to use his magic, and so forth. Couple of months go by, and well, you saw. Big, blue, moronic, greedy dragon. Takes Crystal, along with his akin rocks, and drops him off at his place. Then, I figure, it's a great time to let Crystal into the world, and see how he does. Crystal tries to go back to the island, shows up at this nice lake, and you lot come along. What a wonderful twist! Now I get to see what you guys are up to."
Voidfiller smiles.

 

Stephanie seems a little put off by this, "So...you're watching us?" She asks.

 

"No, I'm watching what Crystal's watching. I'm looking at what Crystal looks at. Also, I don't want you to think that I'm some stone-hearted demon that doesn't care about what he creates. Because I'm not. Yes, I created Crystal, and yes, I'm currently possessing Crystal and using him and a physical form, but I don't control Crystal. When I'm gone, Crystal will be here. Crystal's his own entity. I'm just watching."
Voidfiller puffs smoke.

 

Stephanie coughs a bit from the smoke in the room, "So why are you watching?" She asks.

 

"I'm a scientist. I made my experiment, I need my results."

 

"So what results are you looking for?" Stephanie asks.

 

"Whatever results I can get from, 'what will happen if I made a humanoid crystal and teach it magic'. Oddly specific, I know, but as I said, I report to myself. I can do any experiment, if I really want to, and if I use others, I tend to get their consent. Not from Crystal, though, because that'd probably ruin the experiment."

 

"Why did you stop talking to him?" Stephanie asks.

 

"To see what he does without me."
Voidfiller says, putting his cigarette in an ashtray, which then disappears along with the cigarette.
"The whole point of the experiment is that there's set things in the experiment, such as Crystal having magic, and then seeing what he does. He knows I created him, and I didn't want him to ask me for advice, because I would know."
Voidfiller says in an explaining tone of voice.

 

"Oh...that makes sense." Stephanie says.

 

"Thanks."
Voidfiller smiles, while still being Thirteen.
"Want anything? Like, a drink, or something of the sort?"

 

"A bottle of wine would be nice." Stephanie says.

 

"Any specifics? There's a lot of wine that exists."

 

"Some simple wine from the eighteen hundreds." Stephanie says.
