Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh," I say. "The dragons who used to live in Asrodonia could all fly and breathe pure magic out of their mouths. It's said that they were the smartest creatures in Asrodonia until humans killed them off."

 

She reaches the others quite quickly, as they (I think they are?) are near to where the path was.
Artemis notices a floating mushroom is with the group. It glows slightly, a bit like the mushroom which Terrae was holding earlier, except fainter.

A while later, you near the end of the path. Beyond it, you see an almost crystal clear lake surrounded by soft, white sand. Magic swirls around the people/beings in the group who are in the lake, and one spot in the lake which you assume is Ihra because she isn't anywhere else.
Is it just you, or does the path around you seem to be brighter than before?

 

Artemis decides to visit the mushroom first, curious.

"Hello?" Artemis asks, both physically and telepathically.

 

"I'm assuming you have a lot of experience with beings of power, right?"
I smile, but Crystal isn't looking at me, and doesn't notice.

 

"You could say that." I say, smirking and throwing and catching one of my shurikens.

 

"Greetings, forest guardian. I am Por, a floating mushroom."

 

"Good to know if I get any questions on beings with great power."
Crystal smiles, but in the cheerful way.

 

"Hello, Por. I'm Artemis," Artemis says, "If you don't mind me asking, what causes you to float? Are you constantly expelling a gas from under you, or are you simply magical?"

"I am the guy to talk to." I say.

"Careful, Aj, if your head gets any bigger you're going to have to drag it around." Abigail says, smirking.

 

"Huh?"
Crystal says, clearly not getting it.
"It's a metaphor, Crystal."
"Oh, okay. I just didn't know if Shadows' heads actually grew."

 

"Technically, they don't naturally, but they can if forced. Our malleable bodies allow us to grow and shrink, within limits." I say.

 

"Oh. Cool. Like shape shifting!"

 

"Yes, essentially shapeshifting." I say, turning my free hand into an axe, and then a claw.

 

"Does your shape shifting go as far as being able to turn into a shark?"
Pause.
"Just something that came off the top of my head."

 

"Yes, but I don't see why I'd need to become a shark if only to scare people." I say.

 

Crystal shrugs.
"Sharks can swim fast."

 

"I could always just shapeshift essential parts of myself to swim faster, though," I say, "Either way, swimming is usually not necessary with Katie around."

I smile at Katie, and she smiles back.

 

"True. Having a water guardian as a friend is always useful in water."
Crystal agrees.

 

"Especially if you're weak to water too." Abigail says, smiling at Katie.

Katie is beaming at this point, "I try my best!" She says happily.

 

"And clearly you do well."
Crystal smiles.

 

"I'd say you're one of the most skilled Water Guardians I've seen." Stephanie says as she reads through her tome.

"I'm sure your parents would be proud." I say, smiling at Katie.

"Aw, guys stop! I don't deserve all of these compliments!" Katie says, smiling wide.
