"Well then..."
Crystal says, in a sad tone.

I walk over to Stephanie, and sit next to her.
"Hey. What happened?"

 

OOC: I know, it's just Devourer's not around so I wanted it to be clearer that Stephanie was dry.

"I-It's just A-Aj being mean." Stephanie says through tears.

"Hey, Stephanie, I'm sorry. I went too far, I didn't mean to hurt you." I say, walking over.

 

"It's just the first time the light has gone from that dark to that bright before... I've never had problems before..."

 

"Aj, what did you do? All I heard was a splash. In addition, who's the purple one?"
By 'purple one', I obviously mean Crystal.

 

"Extremely." I say. "I grew up in the heat, so I won't do well in the snow. No need to waste money on a fur coat though. I'm sure I'll manage. I assume you have a tolerance for the cold?"

 

"How do you think I froze my wound? Snow and ice is where I feel at home. If they see me as a legend, you may not have to pay for a coat."

 

"Quite the forest." I comment, walking aling the path and looking around for anything interesting.

 

"I can see why that would be a problem. Are you hurt?" Artemis asks.

"Well, Stephanie jumped on me, so I threw her in the birthlake, and then she started acting like this. Look, Stephanie, I'm super sorry." I say.

Stephanie's sobs quickly turn to laughter, "Got you!" She says, turning around and smiling.

"The purple one is called Crystal. He's super nice!" Katie says, walking over.

 

"Well, I'm glad you'll be able to live in the cold. I should be able to adjust to the climate."

 

"Hm."
I say, looking at Katie and standing up.
"Where'd you find him? Or visa versa."

 

"Well, he kind of approached me in the birthlake. I think Ihra sent him." Katie says.

 

She hears a distressed 'Eep' again and the sound of scuttling as Yver tries to catch up to her.
Artemis starts to adjust to the light. She can see an almost crystal clear lake in the middle of a circle in the forest. The ground around the shore looks extremely soft.
Magic swirls in the lake, especially around a certain point with someone in the middle, though you can't see who they are because the magic is so intense. As you can't see Ihra anywhere else, you assume the magic is concentrating around her.

"I think I need to teach the forest to let some light into the forest... it is too dark in there."

You notice an opening at the end of the path. Bright light comes from it.
Artemis and Keila have already gone on ahead, and you can see the root from before scuttling quickly after them.

 

"This must be the birthlake." Artemis says, mainly to herself. She looks around for any signs of the others.

 

"No, I'm fine, but thank you."

"It'll be a nice refuge from the hell we've been through."
Pause.
"How long do you intend to stay at the small town?"

Keila laughs a bit.
"Yes, that'd be nice."

 

"Have we met? I don't remember seeing you before." Artemis asks.

 

"I do believe you were trying to shoot me earlier."

 

"Oh, you were with Katie's group, of course!" Artemis says, "Sorry about that, I wasn't sure if you were hostile or not."

 

"It's alright. I can understand wanting to play it safe."

 

Artemis smiles, "I think we should regroup with the others." She says.

 

"Probably..."
