"Yeah. Unless that is, you dump me in a batch of molten lava. I'm a rock, I can withstand anything a rock can, and then some."

 

"I guess I won't invite you to one of my lava baths, then." Abigail says.

"Where's Stephanie, Myria and Artemis? I want them to meet Crystal!" Katie asks.

"They're around here...somewhere." I say, looking around.

 

"...Your other friends can withstand lava? Or is that just a you thing?"
Crystal seems curious.

 

"I can grant protection from fire and lava, for a limited time. It comes in useful when you want to torch a place and not kill your friends in the process." Abigail says.

 

"Can't imagine the amount of times you would use it for that reason to be very high, but it's useful nonetheless."

 

"Are you insinuating I partake in the use of drugs, Crystal?" Abigail asks.

 

"No. I just thought that you wouldn't be torching a place with your friends very often. That's all."

 

"Oh, well I usually do it if we get surrounded; set everything on fire with a superheated flame." Abigail says.

 

Keila hears me speak.
"Are you okay Keila?"

Keila seems to have already gone far ahead on the path.
Strangely, she collapses when she reaches the opening at the end.

 

"Do you need to worry about getting surrounded often?"

Artemis throws herself towards Kelia, landing next to her.

"Are you ok? Did something poison you?" Artemis asks, shaking Kelia.

"Not often, Aj usually has our backs." Abigail says.

 

"Oh. So you get in fights often?"

 

"I just lost my balance..."

"No, it's just, the light blinded me a bit. Ugh... Thanks."

 

"You never know who wants you dead. It's a dangerous world out there." I say.

Artemis helps Kelia up, "Do you have problems with light?" She asks.

 

"True. Nowhere's really safe unless it's piled with runes on top of runes with magic."

 

"Even then, you never know what's going to be able to get past those. You need to keep your guard up at all times, be ready to strike should anything try to-" "GOTCHA!" Stephanie interrupts, jumping on me from behind; the shock causing me to fall over. Abigail, Katie and Stephanie laugh.

 

Crystal laughs as well, then looks at Stephanie.
"Timing's key, huh."
Crystal says, smiling.

 

"Yup." Stephanie says, laughing, before suddenly screaming as she gets picked up and held above my head as I stand up.

"Put me down!" Stephanie protests, struggling.

"Ok." I say, before throwing Stephanie into the birthlake and laughing.

 

At this action, I finally notice the commotion.

Crystal starts laughing a bit, and I start getting out of the lake and walking over.

 

Stephanie gets out of the birthlake, annoyed, and Katie removes the water from her clothes.

Stephanie slaps me across the face, which I take.

"There's no need to act in such a violent matter; I was just joking around." I say.

"It's not funny!" Stephanie says, before walking a short distance away and sitting down; facing away from the group. The sound of her sobbing can be heard.
