Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh. That makes sense. How did Guardians come about? Were there just always Guardians?"

 

"I'm not sure. Some say that we were created when the Earth was to be it's protectors, but it's not really something I question. I just like being Katie, the water guardian!" Katie says happily.

 

"Same as I just like being Crystal, the... strange purple rock!"
Crystal seems happy about saying this.

 

Katie laughs, "You're certainly a strange being, I won't deny that, but you're one of the nicer ones I've met!" She says happily.

 

"Awww."
Crystal smiles.
"Well, I've never met a Guardian before, but you're pretty nice!"

 

"Haha, thanks. I guess you don't have guardians in this world, which is sort of sad in a way. It would be nice to meet up with more of my kind." Katie says.

 

"Trust me, I know the feeling."

 

Katie hugs Crystal, "Don't worry, we'll be your friends." She says.

 

Hugging Crystal feels like hugging a cold rock.
Probably because it's a cold rock.
"Thanks."
Crystal hugs back for about a second, then lets go.

 

Katie lets go as Crystal does.

"Do you want to go meet the others now?" Katie asks.

 

"Sure! Why not?"
Katie no longer feels the force under her feet.

 

Katie starts swimming to shore where I sit. Abigail seems to have joined me and plays with fire.

 

Crystal follows Katie underwater, simply propelling itself.

 

After a short swim, Katie reaches the shore.

"Oh, hey Katie. Enjoying the lake?" Abigail asks.

"Yeah, I found a friend too!" Katie says, turning around, "Crystal?"

 

Suddenly, a small shark about the same size and color as Crystal flops out of the lake and onto the shore.
Some sounds emit from the shark's mouth that sound familiar to Katie.
"Rawr. Snarl. Thrash."
The shark looks at Abigail.
"Hi."

 

Abigail seems shocked and scared. In an instant, I'm next to Katie, before grabbing her and teleporting a distance away from the shark; doing the same with Abigail.

I approach the shark with Shadow Katana drawn, "Back in the lake, crystal being, or die." I say with a serious tone.

 

"Aww. No jokes? Don't like physical jokes that much? Fine then."
The shark flips over on it's stomach, or where its stomach would be, and slowly starts to change.
First, the tail splits to be one leg on top of the other.
The fins follow, slowly transforming into arm, while the body and head get smaller.
The rest of the body shifts into a more human body, while the head goes to more of a human head, and the creature develops a neck.
Crystal's back to normal, now.
"Hi. I'm Crystal. That seems sharp."
Crystal says, getting up and gesturing to the Katana.

 

"Sometimes we think that too. But we've become used to it. You become used that sort of thing once you become this old."

It seems like, somehow, the path was always moving in the same direction. In fact, the part of the path behind you seems to be closing more slowly as it waits for you to move on. The other side of the path just continues to open up as it moves along.

[For everyone else]
The path seems to be slowing down on closing behind you, as if it is waiting patiently.

 

Keila heads down the path, realizing Aria and Rina already went.

Hello there

 

After a while, the path opens out and Keila sees a wall of very bright light, as the forest is a lot darker than the open area of lake.
