Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'm not sure how nobody noticed, except for the Lost Kingdom. Apparently, the Lost Kingdom had been attacking them until we destroyed it. Speaking of which, Daras survived."

 

He glares at you.
"What?! How..."
He sighs.
"...How can I help? Is he after us, or this other nation? Both? What about the draconians? Forgive me, I just... This is a bit much to hear all at once."

 

"Well, he stopped attacking when we destroyed his kingdom. And I have tried to make him reconsider his ways. Whether he will or not, I do not know, but as long as nobody goes near the Lost Kingdom, then at worst we will have more time to prepare for him if he does attack. At best, he will just stay in the Lost Kingdom forever and won't attack anyone. As for the draconians... Nyre, the draconian attacking Brisingr, did know that Aria had been imprisoned here. That means that at least one of our enemy draconians has entered the Darklands."

 

"That's... Unsettling. Nobody'll sleep if that gets out. Hopefully he doesn't have insiders. Still, sounds like leaving him be is our best bet."

 

"At least for now. But I'm not getting involved with the draconians right away. Instead, I'm going to the kingdom we didn't know about, Aurilon."

 

"See if you can get some alliance between us. If we had known during the war, maybe we could have helped them. They were both very lightly armed... Though I hardly know them, part of me fears from them."

The locket Xephyr gave you flashes twice.
"What's that, if I may?"

 

"Xephyr the draconian gave it to me. I'm not sure what the flashing means, though it might mean that she wants me to come to her."

 

Say, I'm a little late to this fancy party. Is it too late to jump on this train of fun times? (I'm sure my character can fit in with the context)

Additional Details and Lore:
The Shadows are a race of creatures of darkness itself, hailing from a realm modern people call "The Realm of Shadows". They're extremely powerful, and Aj is no different. Being a high-tier Shadow, he has quite a bit of immunity to natural sunlight, and so can survive a bit in direct sunlight. Shadows are known for their powerful killing abilities, as well as the ability to take over the minds of humans and animals and control them. Shadows can easily dissipate to become invisible to the naked eye, then reappear through Shadows, making them an extremely hard target to hit. A Shadow can only be truly harmed and killed by light, and the higher "Tier" a Shadow is determines their resistance to light (Low Tiers cannot survive in light, Mid Tiers can barely survive it, Higher tiers can survive in sunlight for a short while) and powers. This also makes Shadows immune to most diseases; as well as giving them the ability to survive without eating, and the ability to eat most harmful substances.

Aj says he comes from another world, another universe different to this one. He says he encountered a problem whilst transporting through a tear in space and time and was sucked into this dimension (at the current time of the RP). He says he wants to go home, but doesn't really care when that happens. He appears helpful to the other inhabitants, but dismisses the powers of the gods and feels like he is above them somehow. He occasionally appears shifty, like he has a plan to kill everyone around him, but he dismisses it as nothing.

Appearance:
Black, humanoid body (as in actual black, not human black #NotRacist)
Red eyes that glow occasionally.

Weaknesses:
Light
Fire (Half as effective as light)
Electricity (1/8th as effective as light)
Physical damage (Having an arm cut off would render it cut off, Aj would need to take the essence from the arm to regrow it)

Relative location of settlement: The Realm of Shadows. A Realm of Darkness, where the Shadows come from. Only a Shadow can access it, though there have been rumours of mortals entering it...

*Due to the context of a RP, these abilities will be nerfed quite a bit
1. Invisibility will be used as a last-defence, and not often. When invisible, if in a shadow or dark area, Aj's red eyes will be visible, glowing.
2. Bodypart Manipulation will be used when needed, but not often.
3. Teleportation will be used rarely. Aj can only teleport between darkness, and will stay relatively close to the other characters if this is used.
4. Otherworldly Sight allows Aj to see various things most normal people can't. e.g.: Night Vision, invisible Shadows, Ghosts. This will be used when needed, but not too much.
5. Possession will be used very rarely, even less than invisibility. When possessing something, it's eyes will turn red.
6. While Aj is immune to most things other than light, his effect immunity does not render him immune to the effects of drugs or certain spells (though he has some resistance to spells).
7. This is more of Aj's "Backpack", simply transporting items into the Realm of Shadows and retrieving them at will.

**Shadow Katana is a Katana made of darkness. It's extremely sharp, so sharp it can cut a hole in space and time itself if used correctly. It appears to dim light around it, as if it's sucking it in. Aj wears it on his back whenever he's not using it.

Side Notes:
I've read up on the recent events (trying to read 70 pages would murder my brain, I've read about 1-12 and 57-70. If you really want me to, however, I'll try.) so I have an idea of the format this RP goes in. It's also probably a good thing I have brief knowledge of the RP, to fit in better with my character's unknowing of this new realm he finds himself in.

(If Needed) (Self Written) Introduction into Story:

I'm thrown out of a strange cut in thin air in front of the party*. I pick myself up and look around my surroundings curiously. After taking a good look around, I look the beings in front of me. After a short pause, I say "Hi! Names Aj, nice to meet ya!" offering a handshake.

*This party consists of Ihra, 13 and Luphyx.

 

While reading all of the events so far in the rp aren't necessary, as it would take ages to look through them and some things wouldn't really help much, I would recommend reading through the Void Rift Report thread, which has all the lore info and stuff, plus maps (note: most of the info isn't on the main post, as the person who made the thread went quite inactive. In fact, two maps aren't on the thread and a whole kingdom isn't mentioned. There's also a tonne of backstories too which aren't mentioned in the main post).
Also, you might want to specify which group. There are several groups currently: Eras and Xephyr along with two of the Daughters of Storms (though Eras is separate from them right now), Vesius and Reflet, Ihra and 13 and Luphyx, Aforl and Riihs and Tirai. Those are the groups, though various more slightly inactive/completely inactive people are around.

 

I've been to the report thread, but the huge walls of text intimidated me. I'll read over it now.

I'll change it to say I appear in front of Ihra, 13 and Luphyx.

 

"Nice... to meet you...?"
I nervously put out my hand.

 

I shake the strangers hand and ask, "So, what's your name stranger? Heh, well, I guess I'm the invading party here."

 

"Yeah, you kind of are..."
I ponder on something.
"Just call me Thirteen."

 

"Hey there, 13," I say politely. "I think it goes without saying you're wondering where I'm from right?" I say, flipping a gold coin "Well, do you know where I am now?"

 

"Most likely you're here, where I see you, but the perception of sight is easily manipulated, so maybe you aren't here."
I say, hoping you're actually here, because if you weren't, that'd just make things more complicated.

 

"Cryptic," I say offhandedly, "But does this realm, world, area, dimension, place have a name?" I say to the one known as '13'.

 

"We're in the Darklands."

 

"Sounds fitting, considering who I am," I say "Oh, how rude of me! I'm a Shadow, if you didn't know. Considering your less-than-scared looks, I assume you don't have them in your world?" I ask.

I pull my hand away from Shadow Katana, having noticed I subconsciously had begun to reach for it.

 

OOC: Well, you're practically in now...

Ihra gives you a funny look.

"Well, unless you have anything more to say, I suspect you'll take your leave momentarily. Thanks for the warnings... Good luck with this Aurilon kingdom."

 

OOC: It's kind of funny how I ended up getting inserted, and my characters backstory was he ended up getting inserted.

I glance over at Ihra, and give her a warm smile. "I've seldom seen a winged creature such as yourself for a long time," I add.
