I take no notice of this.

"Dominus Terrae, Destroyer of Worlds and God of Destruction." I say, "And who might you be?"

 

"If something is happening in the Wild Islands, yes. Though it is unlikely, they could just be attacking for another reason."

"Most of the time it's peaceful. It isn't really a burden. As I said, the forest wouldn't have begun without the Birthlake. There wasn't even an island here until Eras created it."

Strange... I haven't heard of draconians. What are they?

You hear a startled 'Eep' behind you.
"My name is May. I'm the forest heart."

 

Artemis leans in, "Be careful of this Dominus Terrae near to me. He doesn't seem too trustworthy to me, and he can be a little obtuse. Considering he calls himself a destroyer of worlds, I'd treat him with caution." She whispers, concerned.

 

You wouldn't know. Even if you got off the island. They're not exactly from around here. I guess you could say they're humanoid-dragons. Don't trust all of them, though. Some are evil, and part of a hive mind. Not the ones in our group.

 

May whispers, "Don't worry, I'm already wary of him. Though Daras doesn't know about me, he gave his memories of your group directly to me. I already know about him, and Yver is terrified of him."
As if to prove her point, the root circles around Terrae quickly, climbs up Artemis and clings gently to her head.

So what are you helping Ihra with? I'd say something to do with the hive mind because you have so many weapons.

 

"Thank you, I knew I could trust you." Artemis whispers, smiling.

 

Yeah. To shorten the story, huge dragon, bad hive master, we cure dragon, we set all draconians free.

 

"It's not like there are metals in Aurilon."

 

She chuckles slightly. "Ehm yeah... Your poor workers."

 

"Well, add a heat resistant spell on those, and we might be able to handle the occasional stray droplet of magma. Instead of dying."

 

"Mmm... You can do those? Could you like... add it to mine, maybe?"

 

"You'd have to see if they know any draconians who can use that type of magic. We don't, but we're hoping."

 

"Ah, Greetings, May. And what exactly was the reason for opening up a path to let me go here?" I ask, looking around me.

 

"I would always take advice from a forest guardian.", she whispers.

Doesn't make sense, but I suppose this is all new to me.

"Except the shrine, but I don't see why they would want to eat a metal shrine... erm... they eat meat as well by the way. They don't usually eat people though. And I doubt the Wild Islands have run out of food."

"I didn't open up the path. The path is always open for all plants to visit me. The path given to Daras happened to go past it."

 

Yeah. It kinda unravels better if you stick around with the group.

 

In that case, I might stay with your group until you leave the forest.

 

Is the Birthlake technically in the forest? If so, you're welcome to stay.

 

"I'll make sure he doesn't reach you if he tries to attack." Artemis whispers, before pulling away and smiling innocently.

 

Yes, it's in the centre.

She smiles innocently too, walking to the side slightly as if she hadn't said anything to Artemis.
