Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"O-oh... Were they evil or corrupted?"

 

"What do you mean?" Artemis asks, "Could you show me?"

 

"Not messing with the glowing mushrooms..."
I say to myself, catching up with the rest of the group.

 

"An enemy of ours managed to get hold of them somehow. He must have known where they were. He tried to use them against us. If they're activated and they then they're made into normal versions of their construct, it won't take much for them to follow the one who did it. Then I think Virei'tus destroyed them? So now they're destroyed, except for Aura."

"Uhh... okay!"
It moves back along the path the plants made for Daras and the group. It goes through the end of the path but the plants don't move.

And then Thirteen sees another glowing mushroom. This time it floats through the air and moves towards him.

 

Artemis follows, curious.

 

"That's a shame."
Keila tries to approach Aura, curious.

 

"Erm... Hi?"
I say, keeping my distance, but still try to get closer to the group.

 

She walks into the wall of plants. They don't seem to want to move aside.

Aura sniffs at Keila. She then lets a light breeze out of her mouth, which directs gently to Keila.

It doesn't respond. A strange humming sound seems to come from it.
Its blue glow is quite intense and bright.

 

Artemis focuses, letting out a pulse that tells the plants she's a forest guardian.

 

Keila smiles, then pets Aura, returning the breeze.
"If only the others were like you..."

 

I just keep walking towards the group, not letting it out of my sight.

 

The plants move aside slightly. Some branches and vines grab her and push her gently through the forest.

It floats behind Thirteen and follows him.
If Thirteen is behind the group, he would probably see Artemis be taken into a wall of plants.

 

Artemis lets the plants take her, trusting that they mean no harm.

 

Aura hums gently and crouches down. She lowers her wings and legs, suggesting that she is offering Keila to ride her.

 

Keila doesn't seem to know how to react.
"Mother, she's letting you get on her back."
"O-oh? Okay..."
Keila carefully climbs onto Aura's back, a bit curious and confused.

 

I disregard the worry of safety for a Forest Guardian in a bunch of plants.
I finally stop moving, but get ready to do anything quickly.
"Alright, what do you want."
I casually ask the mushroom, at least hoping for an answer.

 

"It's a lid. Don't you know how to get them off?"

 

"No, I don't. They're really hard to pull off, though..."

 

The plants continue to take her further into the forest, presumably down the path the group first went along.
A while later, the plants let go of her and she finds herself at the start of a path. There are some large and tall trees forming a path which heads into what seems to be an old part of the forest.
The root is 'sitting' in the middle of the path.
Telepathically, it says, "Sorry about the plants dragging you here. They wanted to make sure only you came."
It starts scuttling down the path.

Aura hums and starts walking down the path.
Her scales are surprisingly soft while still being metallic.

It continues to float, hum and glow, not giving a response.

 

I look for any loose branches on the ground, while still keeping check on the mushroom.
