Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The guards shoot each other nervous glances.
"Very well... He's not busy at the moment. Rina, Xephyr? Good to meet you."
They part, bowing to you.

"That sounds weird... Maybe I'll ask Mother about it some time."
She sits down and glances around.

 

I walk between them and across the bridge. At the end of a bridge is a small courtyard with a garden of strange plants and then a large, dark, iron door. As I walk up to the door, it opens inwards. I continue down into the main hallway.
OOC: Just in case you forgot, the you control the King. I might control him later but at the moment I only want to control Eras, because he's my character, and Daras, because he is a major character in all sorts of ways and since I'm keeping some secrets about him, I want to control him.

 

The pair follows you, keeping mostly quiet.
"This is huge..." Rina seems slightly in awe.

You hear footsteps getting closer from the front.

 

I start to approach the throne. Looking around, the King is not here. I say, "The King isn't here, but he'll likely be in his room."
I wait for the owner of the footsteps to appear.

 

A door opens... Sure enough.
"Ah, Eras, I was hoping you'd come. Someone strange came recently and spoke of..."
He notices the two behind you.
"...Forgive me, I didn't know you brought companions. Wait... i-is that..."
Xephyr tries to hide behind you.

 

"This is Xephyr, a draconian. She isn't like the one in Brisingr, which I'm guessing you have heard of since Gargantuan managed to find out. Oh yes, and keep an eye on Gargantuan just in case. And this is Rina, Daughter of Storms. I have recently found out about an unknown kingdom called Aurilon, and Rina comes from that kingdom. But that aside, a girl called Aria was exploring the kingdom. I have reason to believe that something bad has happened to her. Either that, or one of the other draconians was tricking me. I was wondering: have you seen or heard of a girl in a blue dress, who is Aria, anywhere in the Darklands?"

 

"Actually... That sounds just like the person I was going to ask you about. Some guards mentioned someone who spoke in foreign tongue spending her time looking at statues and art. They arrested her for trespassing into some garden... Three people drowned in the interrogation room when she was questioned with blades at her throat. She's still in that room, we can't communicate with her."

"We can act as translaters if you need..." Xephyr offers.

Rina looks pissed.

 

OOC: Oh, XD.

"That would likely be her. I'll go make sure it's her, but it does sound like it was Aria."
I out of the palace and across the bridge and start walking towards the east side of the city, where the prison is.

OOC: Yes, the prison isn't in the palace. Prisons sometimes are at palaces in anything but they are usually at least some distance away.

 

"Damnit, she's going to be called a murderer now... She doesn't even... RRRAAAAAAAAGHHH!!"
"She's okay. She's alive. Please... It'll be fine."
"This is why we don't leave the Storm Barrier..."

 

"I'll sort everything out... some people aren't going to be happy about this, but there have been far worse amounts of death in wars in the past in events that shouldn't have happened... I'll make sure she gets out somehow."

 

"Keep your end of the agreement and I'll keep mine. Are we close?"

Xephyr shoots you a nervous glance.

 

"Yes, we're almost there."
The size of the buildings around us is starting to get to the one floor but still quite large houses. However, there is one building which is about the size of a mansion very close to us. The building has, like the palace, two guards at the gate.
When we approach, I say to the guards, "I've heard that you have a girl in a blue dress speaking in a foreign language somewhere in here. I'd like to see her. This is Xephyr, a draconian who isn't evil like the one in Brisingr, and Rina, Daughter of Storms."

 

They part.
"Fair warning, half the place is flooded. She controlled the water like a mage, but has no wand, no tome..."

 

"We'll be fine in there."
I go into the entrance hall. The entrance hall has more guards, about a dozen, but this time the guards are just there to make sure nobody escapes.
"I haven't been here many times. Daras was here once, so I mainly know my way around the prison from then. The investigation room should be this way."
I go left towards a small, cramped, spiralling staircase. The staircase only goes up two more floors but seems to go down... very far. I go up the staircase.
"All of the cells are below ground, with very little light. Most of the water will have gone down here, and I almost feel sorry for the prisoners down there. Since Aria is apparently still in the interrogation room, then she will be up here."
There are more signs of flooding water as we go up. I go to the top floor. There aren't many rooms, but there seems to be a larger one with double doors straight ahead. More guards are on this floor. They seem to be ready to fight at any moment, and the leather clothing under their darkened armour is soaking with water.
"The room with the double doors is the interrogation room."

 

It's flooded.
"She better be okay..."

 

I open the doors to the interrogation room.

 

The water rushes out.
Aria is chained to the wall, asleep.

"Thank god..."
Rina runs over to her and wakes her up.

 

I say to 13:
"From what I sensed, it seemed like he was going toward the Darklands. However, as you begin, I shall watch from afar. I'll stay, for as long as you continue on to Eras, there is no point to me physically accompanying you."
I'm put off-guard by saying goodbye to someone so (mentally) young; I look worried, but grinning slightly, I say:
"Don't worry Ihra. I'll be with you every step of the way."

 

"At least she's ok... now, about getting her out... I'll deal with that."
I walk out of the room and go to the room next door, which is the Chief Guard's Room.
I say to the Chief Guard, "About the girl you have in the interrogation room... I need her to be freed. She only trespassed because she does not understand laws such as that. She comes from another kingdom. As for the guards she killed, she was scared when you threatened her at sword point. I know that she killed them, but as I said, she does not understand these lands. As for the water problem... well, that likely made this place smell less and it does discourage people from committing crimes."

 

"Thank you...? I have companions already. I'll be fine! At least, unless Nyre shows up."
She looks into the crystal centerpiece of her staff.

"Sgavrinn will be enough as long as Nyre isn't there." She smiles.

They look at you bitterly.
"We understand. Think you could make us a bit more diplomatically appealing than this?"

Rina comes out of the room, half-carrying Aria.

"If she ends up here again for absurd reasons, I'm sending a tornado..." Rina mutters. Again, the guards don't understand her.

"Is Kai alright?" Aria yawns.
