"The plants will be able to detect me, then. I don't have brain signals, but I do have a pulse."
I say, putting my hand where my heart would be.

 

"A robot who has functioning biological elements? Interesting..."
"Iruk, it really isn't."

"Just enjoy the forest."
"I'm supposed to enjoy a guard flower...?"

 

"Different people find interest in different things. Just because you don't find interest in the product of a bunch of rich, crazy scientists doesn't mean Iruk can't."

 

"It'll just cast the spell and fizzle out, like using up all your magic." Stephanie says.

"That was the plan." Myria says.


"I can handle hostile plants. I can control them way easier than controlling people," Artemis says, smiling, "Besides, mother nature wouldn't set her plants on her pure children."

"YOU GAVE IT OUR MEMORIES!?" I exclaim loudly, "NOW IT KNOWS OUR WEAKNESSES, YOU COMPLETE TOOL!"

 

"Alright."
Ruby proceeds to psyblast using the staff until it stops.


"Aj, I think he means he gave it memories of seeing us so it knows what we look like."

"See?"
"I don't understand robots..."

 

"It's obvious that it was an obvious statement because obviously I said obviously, which was obvious."

"Did you flood the Lost Kingdom when Daras was attacking you?"

 

"I think you can cast any type of spell you want with that, and the crystal won't get damaged." Stephanie says.


"Oh. Good, that could've been bad." I say, calming down. Artemis holds on to my (now braided) hair, uneasy on my shoulders.

"Aj, please try to stay calm. I might fall." Artemis says.

"Oh, sorry Artemis." I say, holding on to Artemis' legs to keep her stable.

 

"I... just stop."

"I understand myself, I understand Iruk, but some other robots, I don't understand either."
I say in agreement.

 

"And now I dump ten charges into it."
Ruby's aura fades.
"That's... that's a lot better."

 

"You could always max the charges and spend it on one spell to make it extremely powerful. A simple fireball could become a mini-sun." Stephanie says.

 

"I can already make a mini-sun. Maybe a mini-sun will become a nova!"

 

"Yes, they would detect you."

"Yes, but the others will be more at risk. Also, these plants are magically affected."

"No, I mean I gave the plants my memories of seeing you."

"Sorry, I just saw that opportunity."

"It'd most likely become a star." Stephanie says.

"Well, I'm mostly immune to it, and Abigail will just burn everything. Really, only Katie and Stephanie are vulnerable." I say.

Katie stays close to you, "Don't let them hurt me, alright?" She asks.

 

The guard flower looks at Katie for a few seconds before moving away.
"Everything will be fine. There shouldn't be anything dangerous for a while anyway."
Katie can see a strange root which is crawling along the ground on the edge of the path. It seems to sense the group and scuttles away.

 

"Aaaand now I don't."
"HA!"
"What's that even supposed to prove?"
"I DON'T KNOW!"

"...Oh. Disappointing. Unless I can make it go nova!"

"Not appreciated."

"It proves that everyone has something to learn. But for now, we're going to see a lake named the Birthlake, so it's important somehow, most likely. Well, once we get through this forest."

 

Katie runs toward me, scared, before making a large leap and jumping onto Artemis' shoulders; making the three of us look a little like a totem.

"Are we all just hopping on each other's shoulder's now?" I ask, confused.

"You can slice at the plants, and Artemis can stop them from getting near!" Katie says nervously.

"I meant it would literally become a new sun." Stephanie clarifies.

 

"Right. That."
"Ihra, just take a breath. You wanted to come here, anyways."
"True..."

"I know that, but that wasn't my question. My question is, once I made it, could I make it explode or not?"
