Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

At this distance, you can tell that those aren't weapons.
They're carrying shovels.

 

"My newfound friend and I were looking for Eras, and I could've sworn I just say him fly overhead.
Did you see him?"

 

"Sorry, I haven't... not since Xephyr went off with him. In fact, last person I saw hit me with a pokey thing and then melted, and it was only one person. I haven't seen anyone else since the group went somewhere."

 

"...and who was that?"

 

"I dunno, they had armor and were yelling at me and stuff. He threw something at me and it put little marks on my robe, so I spat on him... and then he melted."

 

"Did they melt from your spit? And are those marks still there?"
I glace for a second towards the ocean, where I believe Eras flew off to.

 

"Yes and yes."
She lifts her free arm; there's a visible cut that you can see through.
Holding the cut up and looking frustrated, she spits on the ground. A hole roughly a foot deep corrodes as a result.

 

"Remind me someday to never attack you with the intention of hurting you."
I say, a bit worried for my safety.
"Do you want to come with us, or do you want to go find Vesius?"

 

"I'm going on. Who- or what-ever this "Vesius" is is much less important than my current business; I've wasted enough time already"
I suddenly seem very old and tired.
"Come along if you care that much."

 

"Vesius is probably fine. Mother told me to go venture out on my own, so I did. I'll follow you."

Ihra chuckles.
"I have nothing better to do. Mother says I should help people, so maybe I can help if I follow you.

...If I could find you..."

 

I shimmer into sight, tip my hat, and then am gone.
"It would be best if I stay here, my influence is weakened during the dark hours."
My voice is heard, as if spoken from behind.

 

"You like the sunlight too? Mother made it sound like it was just me. Besides, I thought you were going somewhere."

 

OCC: I hope to god they aren't trying to dig any holes, considering the ground is obsidian.

I reach out telepathically to one of the guards. "What're you doing?"

 

"Not sure. The healers here aren't the smartest once it involves things outside their profession. She... oh crap... Uh... She thinks your dragon thing is dead. It hasn't moved in even the slightest since it was brought in. There's signs of a pulse, but that's it. It's body went cold yesterday and we can't hear it breathing at all."

The guard pauses and turns in your general direction.
"I'm sorry, truly, but we didn't know what else to do. That, and the healers were stubborn with these damn shovels..."

 

"We do, but from my understanding, the ocean blocks us. We could figure out some way to get across the ocean, make our presence widely know by doing something big to get attention, or both."
I look off in the distance towards land.
"Or we could do random things on the land until we spot Eras flying over again."
I look back towards the group.
"I like the former, better, but we have an odd amount, so it's majority rules."

 

"I thought Eras stayed in the Darklands. Where would he go in the middle of the ocean? Waiiit... What's an ocean?"

 

"An ocean is a large area of water, which usually doesn't consist of freshwater, so it's unsafe to drink it. There's one about south of here. As for what he's doing there, when we see him again, you can ask him because I haven't the slightest idea."

 

"So an ocean is poisoned water? Why would there be anything in it?"
She seems to know what poison is and what water is. Thus far, that appears to be it in terms of liquids. Spit, water, and poison.

 

I whisper to them, "Don't worry, everything will be fine."
I say to the guards, "I need an audience with the King as soon as possible. This is Xephyr, one of the draconians. Don't worry, she isn't like the one which attacked Brisingr, if you've heard about that draconian. And this is Rina, Daughter of Storms. As for why I need to speak with the King, we're searching for someone important and the King might know where they are."

 

"Well, no, it's not poisonous to the animals who live in it, but they have developed a way to live in the water. The water itself isn't actually poison, it's just unsafe to drink for some animals. I'm sure exactly sure if it's actually safe for you to drink, but I wouldn't try. And for humans, they can't ingest that kind of water, they drink fresh water. I never drink anything, unless it's a potion of sorts."
