Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I don't care if you ate any cookies, Aj, I care if you're lying to me about being the king of the Shadows."

 

Ihra seems put off and entranced at the same time, watching her.

 

"The king? He's pretty cool. Though he gets kind of annoying since I'm pretty high up in our community, and so I get called in to make decisions." I say.

Artemis giggles.

Abigail starts lighting what look like small sticks of dynamite, planting them in the ground and watching them explode, laughing as they do. She attaches one to a firework and lights both; the resulting explosion is both large and pretty.

 

"Aj, I really don't like games of 'guess based on what you can infer', especially with friends. So just tell me, honestly, are you, or are you not, the King of Shadows. Because I have some convincing evidence that makes me think you are."

 

"Um..." I say nervously.

"I can neither confirm or deny." I say after a pause.

Artemis smiles at you.

 

I turn to the doctor. "Where can we sleep for the night? I remember you offering to let us stay for the night. We'll be gone in the morning."

 

"Then, explain. Because just a while ago, the King seemed to be an entirely different person."

 

"I am legally obligated to answer no more questions on this topic." I lie nervously.

"He is." Artemis whispers in your mind.

 

"Thought so."
I say out loud, almost like I'm answering to Aj, when really, I'm answering to Artemis.
"Well, thanks anyways."
I say, this time clearly direction to Aj.
I then turn away and walk a bit away from the two of them.

 

I sigh, smiling, "Glad that's over." I say.

"You shouldn't keep secrets from everyone like this." Artemis says.

"Sometimes I have to, Artemis. Sometimes I have to." I say.


Something explodes at your feet.

"Sorry!" Abigail shouts over to you.

 

I look above me, clearly surprised.
"What are you doing?"
I ask Abigail.

 

"Setting off fireworks because Drake is dead!" Abigail says happily.

 

"Well, okay then! Just don't burn anyone!"

 

"I won't!" Abigail says, lighting another firework.

 

"Alright, good!"
I continue to walk ahead of the group a bit.

 

"Don't blow us up!" Ruby laughs.

"I have a guest room, two beds."

 

Abigail pulls out a rather large bomb from the crate.

"Whoa, mama. This one's gonna be good." Abigail says, before starting to dig a hole to put the bomb in.

 

Ihra puts a shield around herself and Sgavrinn/Artemis.
"No, seriously, don't blow us up."

 

Abigail puts the bomb in the hole, before lighting the fuse with her boots as she blasts away.

"Fire in the hole!" Abigail shouts as she flies away from the bomb.

 

"Oh boy..."
Iruk looks at the bomb curiously.
