Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Get food for yourselves tomorrow morning. Opal, right? Crash at my house, and I'll give you a meal. Adawalae, get supplies in town, if you have the coin. If not, I'll give Opal a little extra."
Pause.
"You know, I heard about your kind from the other continents. I thought you were a myth, but to me, it's something else to see one, nonetheless operate on one. Sorry we met like this, but good luck on the days ahead."

It is.
The draconian carrying the saddles is still following you.

 

"Thank you. By the way, I never got your name." I say as I look for a crate on the fourth floor.

 

Elyra teleports back to the platform and starts teleporting back down the island chain.

 

"Warren. Doctor Warren."

The draconian is a bit slower than you, but they're in sight by the time you make it back to the mages.
The one who gave you the bag of metal looks at you, cross.
"Please tell me you didn't burn the money on yourself and came back to mock me..."

 

I look for an empty crate big enough to fit Opal inside.

 

There's only one, and the doctor helps you fit him in.
"Try to be quiet."
"What have I been doing?"
"Fair point."

 

I help him inside the crate. "Should we make some holes so he can breathe?"

 

"There'll be holes in the top, he'll be fine."
Pause.
"It'll be a tight fit in the elevator."

 

"Could we risk coming out separately?" I ask. 'Also, I hope the guards have changed shifts, because he knows that you were operating on someone."

 

"Go out the back door, I'll tell him that it's closer to the inn, because it is."

 

I follow Dr. Warren's directions.

 

"Nah, I got a good deal. The draco-human behind me has the harnesses. Now, the electromancy and pyromancy stuff you promised."

 

"Right."
The draconian lands, giving another mage the harnesses.
"Well, come here and take your pick."

There are a few charms, a staff, and two tomes.

The inn's still open, or you could sneak around and meet Warren out front.

 

Elyra looks more closely at the tomes

They're beginner level pyromancy and electromancy tomes.
The charms are either thunderbolt shaped, core shaped, flame shaped, or ash colored beads.

 

"Ehm... Do the charms do anything?"

 

"Depends. The core and beads just look nice, but they can be infused with magic. The thunderbolt one lets you shoot one every now and then, and same with the flame with... well... fire."

 

Elyra sighs. "Alright. The electromancy tome then." She goes to pick it up.

 

The other items slide out of reach, and the yellow tome slides into your hand.
"Thanks for the help. Enjoy the robe... I can't inagine wearing woven metal is comfortable, though."

 

"Heheh. Yeah, it's just awful. Terrible. Also, remember how I said not to mention it earlier? That still applies."
