Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I press the third floor button.

 

As the elevator door opens, you see someone walk past the stairwell door.

 

I duck behind the nearest thing and hope nobody has found the doctor and Opal.

 

The door never opens.
You're good.

By the doctor's estimate, you have about an hour and a half left.

 

I go to the doctor. "Someone else is in the building. Do you know of anyone who would be in here this late? Guards? Emergency Room Doctors?" I wait for his response. If he doesn't answer due to being concentrating on the surgery, I go to fill up a bucket of water.

 

"The other guard. If they come, just tell him I need to focus."

 

"Go it.' I say. I start to fill up a bucket of water, keeping a close eye on the elevator door.

 

It goes up to the fifth floor.

The bucket's halfway full. That's probably enough.

 

Still eyeing the elevator, I grab a blunt tool from a shelf. Grabbing a bowl, I toss the Fire Roots into it. I use the tool to violently mash up the paste, remembering my tribe.

 

The water soon turns a slightly orange color (it looks awkward in the dark), and the elevator remains in place.

 

I start to mix the liquid.
OOC: So, Opal won't die, since he is "your character", correct?

 

OOC: No, he can die. My persona died, so Opal can die.

Looks about perfect.

 

I slowly carry it to the doctor. "It's a simple tribal medicine." I explain. "I was a warrior, so I never knew much about it, but I knew they made it my mashing up Fire Roots into a paste, then mixing it with water. It was rubbed on the wound, speeding up the natural healing process and having other effects. Like I said, I only know the basics of it." I set on on a table next to the doctor.

 

"Thanks. Hopefully there aren't any side effects..."

He applies a little bit to the deepest parts of the wound.

 

I go back to watching the elevator door, opening the magazine from earlier and trying to make sense of the strange characters.

 

The elevator goes up to the fifth floor.

The magazine still makes no sense.

 

I flip the pages to see if it has any pictures that will help me better understand. "Elevator just went to the fifth floor, if you're interested."

 

There are ads, but that's about it.
"If it opens here, tell him that I need to focus, remember?"

 

"Yes, of course." I say to the doctor. I put down the magazine and wait.

 

The elevator door opens, and the guard seems surprised to see someone here.
"What are you doing here? How'd you get in?!" He barks.
