Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"It hurt a little bit, but I'm fine," Shadow Stephanie says, "And please, call me, your highness."

Shadow Stephanie's eyes glow a little brighter, and she winks at you whilst smiling.

Katie jumps into the water and swims onto Kai, petting her as she does so.

"This is one of the best adventures ever!" Katie says happily.

 

"If I were to call you by that title, then you would have to call me by that title as well." I reply.

 

"Eh, I can't be bothered. I'll see if you can figure out my name on your own." Shadow Stephanie says in a laid back tone.

 

"It might go south..." Aria mutters.

The group heads toward the Lost Kingdom.

"Artemis, wake up!" Sgavrinn utters nervously.
"People are coming!"

 

"'Miss Shadow' shall suffice as your name for now." I say.

"People? I could have sworn that portal closed."

 

Sgavrinn speaks telepathically. You can't hear that unless you nose around like Ruby.

 

Artemis snaps awake, "What? Where!?" She asks hastily, drawing her bow and nocking an arrow.

"Alright then, Mister Destruction. 'My B*tch' also works." Shadow Stephanie says, winking and grinning.

 

"You are not a dog." I reply nonchalantly.

In that case, I just got the feeling someone said there were people approaching.

 

"Over there, from that storm!"

 

"Woof woof." Shadow Stephanie barks, grinning.

Artemis starts firing a few arrows at the invading people, which fly incredibly fast.

"Fly, Sgavrinn! I don't want you getting hurt!" Artemis says, aiming her next shot.

 

Sgavrinn leaps into the air.

"Mother!"
"I'm fine. This is easy."
Arrows are deflected off-course with winds.
"Katie, we're going underwater."
Kai starts to sink below the surface.

 

Artemis climbs the palm tree next to her, before firing arrows from a higher vantage point.


"Have we come to the wrong place? Did we run into the armed people?" Katie asks nervously.

 

Lightning strikes the arrows as a four-winged beast comes into view.
Someone's walking on water, arrows seeming to just fly off course when they're about to hit her.

Aria holds one of Artemis' arrows.
"Do you recognize this?"

 

Artemis jams her hand into the top of the palm tree, and a mass of seaweed starts quickly extending its way to the person walking on water.


"That's one of my friend's arrows! She's called Artemis. Why would she be attacking us?" Katie asks, confused.

 

A whirlpool prevents it from getting to them.

"Can you get their attention? If those are your friends, mother isn't in any danger!"

 

"Dammit." Artemis mutters to herself, grabbing a coconut from the palm tree. A large wooden hand forms next to Artemis, who gives it the coconut. The wooden hand throws the coconut towards the approaching figure incredibly fast.


"I'll try!" Katie says, forming a surfboard of ice in her hand. She jumps off of Kai and swims towards the surface, getting on her surfboard and riding a wave towards the shore as fast as she can.

 

The coconut gets flung back through the hand.


"Good luck..." Aria whispers.

 

Katie arrives on shore, "Stop shooting! They're friendly!" She shouts to Artemis desperately

"Katie?" Artemis asks, dropping down from the palm tree.

"They're friends of mine! They want to speak with Daras!" Katie says.

"Oh, I hadn't realised. Sgavrinn said people were coming, I didn't know you were with them," Artemis says, "Sorry, Katie."

 

Keila walks onto shore and approaches Artemis.
"I sensed armed creatures near my island. I feared for them, and Katie convinced me to investigate."
The four winged beast hovers behind her.
"Mother?"
A massive sea serpent pokes its head out of the water, and a girl stands on its head.
"Katie, they're just your friends?"

 

"Sorry about firing at you. I was worried you might be hostile, and coming to kill us." Artemis says.

"It's ok Sgavrinn, you can come back now." Artemis calls out to Sgavrinn telepathically.

"Yeah, this is Artemis!" Katie says happily.
