"Yeah, I'm flying beside Rineth. I don't much like to gamble, especially with my life."
I say to Dominus.

 

"Very well." I reply.

 

OOC: Why do I keep forgetting about Arnold XD.

"No, I meant as in these current events. As for the books, it's a translation book to Dacori."

"If you don't want to fly, there is a shallower part of water to the north of the island. That's how I managed to build docks the size of the island. That way you might be able to land without crushing the ruins or the forest."
I say, "Rineth, if the rest of us go through the portal because Stephanie finds it to be safe, I'll show you the way to the Lost Kingdom."

"We'll wait to see what Stephanie finds. I know the portal might close soon, but a lot of people here could die if they're dropped into the ocean."

 

"Maybe just a little." She takes back the pendant and puts it on.

 

"Yeah, sure thing." Stephanie says telepathically.

"Hm, curious," Stephanie says, "I guess I'll have to investigate you more when I get back."

You see Stephanie fly towards the ground incredibly fast, before suddenly catching herself and flying through the portal.

"See you soon!" Stephanie says the moment before she flies through the portal. A small, purple, glowing crystal falls to the ground in front of the portal.

 

It takes several minutes, but eventually, the doctor starts looking for something he can't seem to find.
"That's a nasty cut your friend got. Be happy he could freeze it; his attacker hit a pretty big vessel."
Pause.
"But honestly, the only way I can fix it is to bring him in for surgery... I can try to put in something makeshift for the vessel to grow back, but a; I don't know how these things work, and b; I can't guarantee it's safe for your friend in the long run."

"...Oh. Sorry. I, uh... tend to miss things while cooped up in a cave forever."

"Sounds like a viable plan, thanks."

Xephyr manages to utter the first laugh you've heard out of her.
"If only Nyre was still here..."

"Well, we'll work on them once they're... themseves. Thank you, miss."

 

"What would people say if they see him in the city?" I ask the doctor, looking at Opal. I then turn back to the doctor. "Ever heard of a Draconian? That's what he is."

 

"There'd be... problems. We might be a tolerant bunch, but this might push some people over the edge. It wouldn't be safe, but as long as you don't tell my employer, I think I could smuggle him into an operating room tonight. No cost; seeing a Draconian is an eye-opener."

 

I raise an eyebrow. "So you do know about him then?" I turn to Opal and ask, "Would you be okay with this?"

 

"This is the first time I've heard of or seen one."
"How would you manage to get me into town unseen?"
"Well, it'd be a rest-of-the-day process, but I can keep the bleeding down. I live outside of town, and when I come in, I'll have you hidden behind and under some supplies. Since I'm night security as well, I come in around midnight and can work on him while it's all closed up. Of course, I'm taking your friend's life if you rat me out."
"I'd expect no less. I'm okay with this if you're willing."
"Sir? I missed your name, pardon me, if you can get lodging for the night and come out to the hospital around a quarter 'til midnight, I'll let you in to make sure you know your draconian friend here is in good hands."

 

"Thank you. I'm Adawalae. I'll be sure to come to the hospital around 11:45. Good luck with the operation." I stay and watch the doctor walk off with Opal. I silently hope Opal will be able to fit under the supplies.

 

"Adawalae? Interesting friend you got. I hope this goes smoothly."
"Thanks, doc."
"It's literally my job."

The two walk off towards a house in the distance.

Maybe you can make a little more money while you're here?

It's about 7:30 PM.

 

I take out Nyre's crossbow before thinking a bit, and then put it back.
"Yeah... but he's gone now."

 

Xephyr sighs.
"I know."

 

"As you wish."

I pick up the Crystal and look around.

"Should she have dropped this Crystal?"

 

"Yes."
OOC: Tell us what's on the other side. Stephanie just went through.

 

I walk back into the city and look around.

 

You're near the inn. The guards let you in without question, and you can also see a bulletin board in the middle of a park along with a grocery store.

 

"I told you not to mention it." She mutters. If nothing more is said, she'd teleport to the island with the tower.

 

"Right. Good luck with this. One more thing... You think you could fetch a few more harnesses from Conhir? You can teleport, we can't. I've got a few things you could maybe have if you want. A couple things useful in pyromancy and a little bit of electromancy, if that's your taste."
