"That's a nice decoy. Anything they read they'll try. They're desperate to find me; funny thing is I haven't done anything."

"Alright, then I'm flying you. Daras, you'll need to guide me, though."

Sgavrinn nuzzles Artemis.
"Can I come too?"

 

"What are these 'Monsters' like, exactly? Are they just animals, or are they horrible abominations?" Artemis asks.

"Sure thing, Sgavrinn!" Artemis replies happily.

 

He starts rearing to jump on Rineth, then hesitates.
"Wait... is it a good idea to leave Abigail alone with Ruby and the others?"

 

"Well, I'm sure mother can look after her and stop her from getting into trouble." Artemis says happily.

 

"Oops. I'm sorry, I keep forgetting."
As Sgavrinn's about to leap again, he lowers his wing next to Artemis' foot.
"Also, it won't do you any good to be afraid of heights."

 

"I see..."

I walk over to Rineth.
"Hail, Dragon! I am Dominus Terrae, Destroyer of Worlds. Or God of Destruction if you prefer that title."

 

"How did you not see me? I've heard your name several times. I think Ihra and I are going to head out for a bit, but you're welcome to ask Ruby questions."

"You're not actually throwing me under the bus here, are you?"
"Somebody's been reading a lot of human minds."
"Yes, change the topic, why don't you?"

 

"I've seen you, yes. I've also caught on that you've been hearing my name, yes. It is simply that I cannot miss out on the formalities. And yes, I've figured you're the one they call Rineth."

I pull out my notebook and draw a light sketch of Rineth.
"I've been told that Draconians can turn into a dragon. Are you also a draconian, or are you a pure dragon?"

 

"I was formerly a draconian, but since I was resurrected as a dragon, I'm purely a dragon now. Also, not all can, and it takes immense amounts of energy."

 

"Mhm...yes. Thank you. What is your purpose with the group, may I ask?" I ask, writing down notes on what Rineth said as well as drawing another light sketch of him.

 

"I'm Ihra's guardian."

 

"Ah, I see. May you please give some background on yourself?"

 

"I was recently resurrected, but since we're all avoiding one question or another here, I'll follow suit."

 

"Maybe they just don't like anyone who knows that Mistress is corrupted."

"I only thought you might because you are Ihra's guardian. I'm ready when everyone else is either on your back or flying. Unless everyone here can teleport very long distances, in which case I have another way of getting there."

"Some are fairly normal, others really are abominations. Eras, didn't one of them make a hole in a mountain range."
"It weakened it, we accidentally made it collapse, then a demigod's pet started eating the rubble. Yes, there is a hole in it."

Idala says, "They fought some of the others. Remember when Katie first appeared and Arnold attacked with all those creatures? Those were some of them."

 

"If that's the case, then they're just being absurd."

"We'll be flying. Only Ihra can teleport, as far as I'm aware."

 

"Very well. Have you any more extra information about the draconian race?"

 

"Yes; beware of Ruby."
"WELL, SOMEONE'S BITTER, AREN'T THEY?!"

 

I write exactly what he said down.
"Is there a specific reason as to why Ruby is...hostile?"

 

"She's a bit impulsive."
"Well, I'm sorry you're not as appealing to me as Mistress."
"I wouldn't worry too much. I meant that as a joke."
