Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, don't be so harsh. Is there something wrong with some well wishes?"
"Yeah, neither of us want them..."
"Dear, please. She's only a girl, can't be more than a teenager."
"Do you think I care?"

 

Elyra seems amused, her lips twitching at a half smile. "I'll just be going then." She turns back to the door.

 

"Wait. Before you go, please. Take this, I can't stand to see a child melt."
Crystal hands you a pendant.
"It's not much, but it'll help keep the heat exhaustion at bay."
"Hey, if the thing you're looking for turns out to be Reflet's killer, give 'em hell for me, will you?"

 

"Thanks." She says, taking the pendant and putting it around her neck. "Sadly we're practically in hell now... But I will." Assuming Crystal says no more, she walks out the door.

 

Well, you're back out to this hell.
Thanks to the pendant, you can actually breathe without straining yourself.

 

Elyra looks for more islands to warp to.

 

There's a few with just trees and three more a few islands over with multiple buildings on them. They seem to be bound together with a huge rope of sorts.

 

Elyra teleports to the island with the buildings on it.

 

There's one with three houses, one with a tower, and one with a few people trying to calm down tethered (panicking) dragons.

 

She teleports to the one with dragons.

 

"I haven't shown anyone the Lost Kingdom before... first time for everything I guess.

"I think they were trying to save the innocents who had survived a town. It gets confusing when you have the memories of every other Krontyri..."

Arnold continues to block them, creating barriers in his mind.
"I understand. I would rather hide in wait until something happens than just let the Hive find a person who would be prepared to kill people they think could be threats to Mistress."

"Fair enough."

I say, "I'll come too. I might as well visit the ruins again, since you made me teleport away last time."
"Sorry. I'm surprised you didn't notice my little hut until then."

 

About a dozen struggling mages are trying to calm down clearly terrified dragons. A couple notice you, and they shout for someone to come.

A man in red mage garb teleports in front of you.
"Hello, miss. Can we help you?"

"One tip, think of other locations. Try to lead them away from here with the few bits they get through the impediments."

The cave lightens slightly.
"I... I was going to show myself, but I'm still too nervous."

"Well, just let me know when we're going."

"Master Eras, may I come as well?"

 

"You can help me by telling me why the dragons are having panic attacks." She gestures at the dragons.

 

"They've been like that since the rupture. We're trying to get them to calm down before they kill themselves, then we'll use them to try to evacuate the islands."

 

"I can... Try and help, I suppose." I reach out to the dragons and try to manipulate their emotions to calm them.

 

"The lost kingdom? That sounds cool!" Katie says.

"It does sound quite pleasant if it has a magical forest." Artemis says.

 

The repurcussions almost hurt; they're extremely panicked.
"We have a healer if you need."

 

"I see...so Krontyri share memories? Or is that just a special ability that you have?"

 

"In other words, places I know could be used as a hiding place?"
Arnold slips some images through the mind barriers. They show a range of mountains with mining towns. The images start going into the mines, taking a seemingly random path. Eventually they lead to a cave set with traps. Arnold then plants an image of himself in this cave, showing the four orbs of energy around him. Behind him is a darker part of the cave which anything could be in.
"If you don't want to show yourself, that's fine."

OOC: Basically, he's shown the Shrouded Peaks in the north of the Darklands. He doesn't know about the collapse, though the part of the mountains he indicated still exists, just the mining town will be destroyed and there will be a few extra caves. Then the fake cave is just to make it more realistic, as if the being doesn't want to let anyone get to them.

"I'm ready when you are. I'm guessing Rineth will take us?"

"It used to be better when there was still a port and the city wasn't destroyed. It's a bit unnerving when not even the monsters go there..."

"Half right. We share memories, but we can only see the memories of those who have existed before us. We can't see those who haven't existed yet."

 

"Well, I guess we don't have to worry about running into anything nasty, right?" Katie says happily.

"Did the forest destroy the city?" Artemis asks.
