Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I don't mean to anger you, but... there's not far for the word to spread. Gargantuan was hit with a meteor shower and the vast majority of Brisingr now has melted, along with Aurorius... It's looking pretty bleak on this side of the world."

 

"Then we-... We go to the other side of the world." She suddenly snaps. "Got any better ideas, genius?"

 

"While we'd like to get off this floating rock, I don't want to run around the world chasing someone I don't know."
"You're welcome to stay and rest, though. Surely the heat was getting to you?"

 

"Fine. But I can't stay here forever."

 

"I know. At least take a little time out of the heat."
"Are you hungry? We have a little extra bread in the kitchen."

 

The girl eyes them suspiciously "Uhm... Sure."

 

The pyromancer meets your gaze, unsure of what's wrong.
The cryomancer goes to the kitchen and, after a moment, returns with a piece of bread.
"You realize that what we have now is all we have?"
"Dear, please at least try to be hospitable. She may be a stranger, but she's still our guest right now."
She offers you the bread.

 

"T-Thanks...?"
The girl takes the bread slowly, and after staring at it for a few seconds, sighs and starts nibbling on it.

 

"Sorry, you looked a bit hungry. I hope that's okay."

 

"Uhm yeah it's fine sure thanks." She stutters awkwardly.

 

"What's wrong?"
"Neither party has given names."
"I don't see why that's a problem. She's looking for the one who razed her village and we're stuck here."
"You almost make that sound like a good thing."
"It clearly isn't..."

 

She takes a bit to regain her composure. "Ehm... If you want my name, give me yours, first."

 

"I'm Aaron."
"I'm Crystal, his wife."
"And you are...?

 

"Elyra." She says simply.

 

"Elyra? That's a nice name."
"Might I ask what brought you here? How did you escape the initial eruption?"

 

"I just... Got lucky. Teleported around. Mage stuff. I was looking to see if I could find either civilization or whoever caused... Everything."

 

"Ah. You're awful brave to look for whatever killed our goddess."
"Elyra, are you sure you aren't trying to walk to your death?"

 

She just shrugs "Maybe I am. Maybe I'm not. The thing that killed her might have just been lucky or... Something."

 

"Well, I wish you the best with your search."

 

"And I wish you luck with being stranded on an island." She mutters
