Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I look at some of the fairies and smile, before going back to making sure Katie's sleeping soundly.

 

It's a standard house. One mage is a pyromancer and the other is keeping the house a tolerable heat.
"Were you from here? I don't know what mages were in training nowadays."

 

Katie sleeps peacefully, smiling in her sleep. She breathes slowly, and her body feels warm.

 

I untie the rag around her elbow, checking to see if that wound was healed.
When done untying, I softly stroke her.

 

The wound seems to have healed completely.

Katie sighs softly in her sleep, and you feel an immense sense of calm wash over you. The water around you feels the perfect temperature, and everything feels serene.

 

If I could, I would probably take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

I continue to stroke Katie, avoiding areas where a human would not liked if I stroked them there.
I look back once to see if the fairies are doing anything worth noting.

 

Katie's hair softly flows about in the water, and Katie seems quite happy. Katie's skin feels warm, smooth and soft to the touch.

A few of the fairies float about, some dipping into the now knee-high water and seemingly checking it.

 

I check to see if there's anywhere in the cavern where water might flow into it.

 

The water seems to be flowing into the tunnel you came in through. Strangely, the water starts flowing out of the tunnel, and the water level begins rising again.

 

"Yes, I'm from... A village southeast of here." She lies.

 

I think for a moment, then I start making a clicking noise with my mouth, hoping to get some attention from a fairy.

 

A fairy floats over to you, curious.

As the water level rises, Katie soon becomes submerged. Bubbles rise from her mouth as she breathes out.

 

"Hello."
I softly whisper to the fairy.
"Do you know exactly how the water level works in this cave?"

 

"It raises and sinks depending on the Guardian’s will for it. She controls how high the water is." The fairy replies. She's quite hard to hear.

The water seems to have stopped rising; leaving Katie submerged.

 

I look the Katie, then back at the fairy.
"Oh. Thank you."
I whisper in a cheerful tone.

 

The fairy flies off.

Bubbles rise from Katie's mouth as she exhales. Her hair floats around all over the place; making Katie look quite peaceful.

 

"Ah, well, I'm glad you were able to survive the cataclysm."
"Were you wondering how it happened, by chance?"

 

"I was, yes."

 

I simply continue watching Katie.

 

You find yourself losing track of time, and Katie just sleeps peacefully.
