Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"That's... not the response I was expecting."
Ihra sits down on Rineth's tail.
"Mind telling me a bit more about Ren?"

 

"I get that a lot. People are very surprised I'm not the tyrant they think I am. I'm more of an emperor who doesn't like it when things do not go to plan."

I draw a sketch of Ihra sitting on Rineth's tail.

"Well, Ren's been hiding underneath my throne for who knows when. He gave me a letter telling me about some missing airships, the new draconian race, and something else that I cannot seem to remember. Anyways, in my search for the missing airships, I found him at the bottom of the sinkhole the capital of my kingdom sits above. He appears to speak in only three words at a time, and I have never seen him in full physical form. He always appears as an outline. He is also being hunted down by something, or someone."

 

"Did you offer him protection, or at least try to figure out what was hunting him?"
Ihra sounds concerned for never hearing about Ren until now.

 

"I offered him protection above the sinkhole, but he refused. For the time being, he is my guest and will be provided for."

 

I look around for any fairies, and also check if there's a way to bypass the spikes.

 

Katie hugs tighter, tears running down her face, "Th-Thanks, Ragnyon. Y-You're a great f-friend." She says.

A few of the fairies float around the cavern, mostly interested in Ragnyon's spirit form. Luckily, they don't seem to have noticed you yet, but there's no way past the spikes; they seem to extend close to the ceiling of the cave.

 

"I've guessed how you got the 'Destroyer of Worlds' title, but what happened?"

"Very well. Is there a way of getting me out of this place without alerting anyone to your presence?"

 

The girl focuses and envelopes herself in a dark aura. She finds the nearest rock island and attempts to teleport herself there.

 

I tread water, thinking of how to get to Katie without making too much noise.
I start making some motions in the water, trying to perhaps get the attention of something.
I make sure not to splash to water, as that would make to loud of a noise.

 

A fairy flies over, clearly annoyed at your presence. She points to Katie, then to you, then shakes her head.

 

I gesture to myself, then I move my mouth while putting my closed hand up to my mouth and putting it away from and opening it, then I point to Katie, then I put my hands up like a plea, hoping the fairy gets the message.

 

The fairy seems a little confused. She draws a line across her neck, points to Katie, then looks at you, cocking her head and raising an eyebrow.

 

I shake my head, holding up my hands in a surrendering fashion.
I quickly put them back down to help me tread a bit.
I gesture to me, then slowly mouth talk, and then point to Katie.

 

The fairy points to Katie, puts her fist in her hand, then points to you and draws a line across her neck. She flies through some of the spikes, clearing a pathway as they sink.

 

I follow the fairy, silently going through the pathway.
I check if the fairy's still looking at me.

 

The fairy seems to have disappeared; though there are multiple other fairies floating around. The path through the spikes leads you straight to Katie.

 

I lift my goggles up to my forehead, before walking through the spikes to get to Katie.
I get near Katie, and sit next to her, looking at her.

 

Katie doesn't seem to notice you at first, she seems to be too busy hugging Ragnyon's spirit form and crying. The sound of her sobs isn't the most joyful thing to hear.

 

"Hey."
I say, reaching over a bit and stroking her back.
"It's going to be fine."

 

Katie jumps a little, "O-oh, hey Th-Thirteen." She says tearfully, turning to look at you, "I-I didn't know y-you were h-here."

Katie rubs her eyes, sniffling, but more tears just replace them.
