I head over to the big black thing in the distance from earlier.

 

"I guess in a way. If I'm badly hurt, then they know that some serious stuff happened."

Artemis wakes up, rubbing her eyes and yawning.

Something's suppressing your ability to teleport that way.

"Shit. Please. Quick. What do I tell your girlfriend? If you can't think of anything, I'm going to have Sgavrinn run off with her to a forest."

 

"The truth. You shouldn't lie to her, she deserves to know how I am."

Artemis looks over to Ihra, "Oh, hey Ihra. Still no sign of Aj?" She asks.

 

"Alright. Here goes."

"Actually, I found him. Kind of. He's... uh..."
Pause.
"So, he's back in the Shadow Realm. In his Shadow Crystal. Almost dead but recovering."

 

"What? Oh no, how badly is he hurt? Is he going to be alright?" Artemis asks, panicked and concerned.

 

"He'll be fine. He's just... uh... well..."
Ihra hugs Artemis.
"He's mortally wounded, but he said he'll be fine at this rate."

 

"Nonononono..." Artemis says, shaking and hugging Ihra tightly; she does her best to hold back tears.

 

"What is this?!" I exclaim, clearly surprised.
I get an idea, and instead fly the way there.

 

"I'm sorry... He'll be okay... I promise..."

A pure white draconian with two sets of wings stops you midway.
"Stop. I will not let you toy with her. If you have mettle with our species, make it between gods, but I wish not to fight."

 

Artemis hugs Ihra tighter, "I...I don't want him to...I just want to..." Artemis suddenly breaks into tears.

 

"He's not going to die. He's with Shadow Stephanie. He'll come back; you'll see."
Ihra just keeps hugging Artemis, trying to hold back tears herself.

 

Artemis just keeps crying.

Eventually, Artemis pulls away and puts her hands to her head, still crying. She tries her best to focus.

 

"If you want to talk to him, I have a notepad..."

 

"N-No, I-I'll go and s-see him." Artemis says through tears.

After a short while, a dark portal opens up next to Artemis. Artemis walks through.
