Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

There's a small spark, and after a few seconds, he's sitting up on his own.
"Enter password"
The default voice flatly states.

"Thirteen, you want to be the hero?"

 

I nod.
"Iruk'ne."

 

"Restoring previous knowledge bank"

"10%"

...and it goes on.
"...Complete"


He opens his eyes.
"Is... is that what pain feels like...?"
He turns to you.
"You didn't forget. Thank you."

 

"Well, they're gone now. They can't hurt you anymore; I'll hire some new guards." Shadow Stephanie says.

Stephanie lies in her hospital bed; wearing the same thin cotton gown as before. She smiles as she sees Ihra and Shadow Stephanie enter.

"Yeah, I feel much better. Shadow Stephanie said you helped a lot with my injuries," Stephanie says, "I wanted to ask: What happened when I got hurt? I just remember darkness, extreme pain in my legs, my enitre body getting sliced apart and then...nothing else."

 

"I tried to phase you out of its mouth, but I couldn't cast the spell fast enough. You experienced getting eaten... I'm sorry."

 

"It's ok...I think that beast had multiple layers of teeth down its throat." Stephanie says, smiling at Ihra.

"When Aj brought you in, you had barely any blood left, which was heavily poisoned; your legs were completely shattered; you were covered in cuts and your internal organs were badly damaged." Shadow Stephanie explains.

Stephanie lifts up the covers, checking herself over.

"As I said, Ihra was a big help in your recovery." Shadow Stephanie adds.

"Thanks so much, Ihra." Stephanie says happily.

 

"No problem. I'm a healer, anyways."
She smiles, then turns to Shadow Stephanie.
"So, how do we get Aj awake to leave? The plan was to leave after Stephanie was up and moving and we ate..."
She pauses.
"I don't mean to be rude, but the darkness is kind of getting to me."

 

"He usually wakes up on his own, but I could go slap him in the face and see what happens." Shadow Stephanie says.

"I need to get dressed anyway. Maybe you two could go find Aj?" Stephanie suggests.

"Want to go awaken the beast with me?" Shadow Stephanie asks, turning to leave.

 

"Sure, not like today hasn't already been exciting-
...wait.
Are his wolves okay? One of the guards tried to keep me out of the mess in the dining hall. One of them was nice... Did she die too?"
Ihra follows, a bit of a solemn look on her face.

 

"Let me see." Shadow Stephanie says, before putting a hand to her mouth and whistling.

The pair of wolves jump out of dark portals, just managing to fit in the hall outside of Stephanie's medical room. One of the wolves is still rather bloody, and the wolf who took Ihra still licks at the bloody patches.

Shadow Stephanie speaks to the bloody wolf in Shadow tongue, and the wolf responds in growls. Shadow Stephanie hugs the bloody wolf, gently petting him.

"Lupus is alright; Lupina seems quite concerned for him." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"They have names? Can I help the wounded one?"

 

"If you want, sure. He's Lupus." Shadow Stephanie says, before speaking in Shadow tongue again.

The bloody wolf, presumably Lupus, walks closer to Ihra; lying down in front of her.

 

Ihra prepares a charge, then casts a spell that stops the bleeding.
"I... Well, I can't do anything about the open wounds, but that should help speed up the recovery. It'll last about a day, and thank you both."

 

"Thank you, child." The voice echoes in Ihra's mind; presumably Lupina.

The wolves head back through a pair of portals.

"Thanks, Ihra. Let's go wake Aj and the others up." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling.

Shadow Stephanie heads through the medical ward; through pairs of doors leading to the elevator.

 

"Abigail's already up. That leaves Katie, Artemis, and Aj... I think."
Ihra follows.

 

"Might as well tackle the hardest obstacle first." Shadow Stephanie says, turning the dials.

Everything goes black, and the pair finds themselves outside a massive pair of doors. Shadow Stephanie grows to her much larger form, perfect size for the doors, and heads toward them.

A pair of guards wait at either end of the doors. They shoot Ihra a suspicious glance, before Shadow Stephanie says "She's with me."

 

"Just saying, I think they all hate me for Nyre still."
Ihra stays a bit closer to Shadow Stephanie.

 

Shadow Stephanie pushes open the doors, and it leads into a massive bedroom. I appear to be asleep in the bed.

Shadow Stephanie walks over to me and starts shaking me, "Wake up...wake up...wake up." She says as she shakes me.

"No...go away...I don't wanna get up..." I say, tired and frustrated.

"Do you want me to pour ice cold water over you?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

"Gimmie five more minutes." I say, turning over.

Shadow Stephanie pulls off the black duvet covering me, "Ihra wants to go." She says.

I groan turning and getting up. I seem to be wearing black night clothing.

"Alright, Alright, I'm getting up."

 

"Morning! ...I think. Is it morning?"

 

"It's morning." Shadow Stephanie says.

I take some dark looking clothing from my bedside table, and head into the bathroom.

"I don't get why he's so grouchy in the mornings. Maybe he's had a bad dream or something?" Shadow Stephanie asks.
