Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Sure thing! Please take a seat, we'll have your pizza crumpet ready soon." the Shadow says happily, guiding Idala to a seat at an empty table before walking off.


"Oh, so he's simply dreaming? I was concerned there was something worse happening to him." The guard says, turning red slightly in embarrassment.

 

"Thank you."
She sits down at the seat the guard showed her to.

"Yes, he is perfectly stable."

 

After a short wait, the Shadow returns holding a platter. She carefully places it down and removes the lid, revealing a plate with a few pizza crumpets.

"If you want anything else, just ask." the Shadow says happily, walking a short ways away from the table and waiting.

The pizza crumpets look quite delicious.


"Alright, then. I'm glad Mister Eras is not under any harm." The guard says, leaving the room; quietly closing the door behind her.

 

She starts eating them.
"Um... yummy!"

A while later, I suddenly become a living music player, going through random songs...
...you wonder what he must be dreaming about and how he is dreaming about it.
The ghost continues standing by me.

 

The Shadow smiles, clearly glad to have pleased Idala.


The guard opens the door to check in on you, "Does he, uh, usually talk in his sleep?" She asks.

 

After a while, Idala finishes the rest of her meal.
She says, "Thank you!", to the guard.

"Hmm... speaking while sleeping is not usual but after taking large amounts of pure alcohol, things like this could expected, though I haven't seen him do this before."

 

The Shadow walks over, taking her platter and plate. She turns to leave, before asking "Is there anything else you want?"


"Alright. If you think he needs medical help, just say; I'll take Mister Eras to the medical ward immediately." The guard says, slightly concerned.

 

This time, the distortion clearly isn't Ihra.
"Dream on."
A barrage of bolts is launched at the guard.

"Wake me up." Ihra reaches out telepathically to the guard who watched her.

"We're always short staffed, sir. I'd give you some coin if you could finish my shift for me; only has half an hour left."

"Then mind helping a fellow robot out?"
He ejects two blades to the ground.
"22"
"I'll shut down when that counter says zero. If you know anyone who's handy with tech, I'd be grateful if you could stop me from being a killing machine."

The spinning cut makes it out.
"Sure, I guess. No alarms as of late, I don't see the harm."

"Nope. The Void palace sounds scary, though."

Reed walks closer to Anna.
"You'll be fine."

"Recommend? We all speak the common tongue. You could try learning Dacori, our native language. Other than that, it hardly matters."

 

"Alright. Standard rules, I assume. No killing, the match ends when one of us taps out or when blood Is drawn. Other than that, you can do pretty much anything." I fasten on my armor.

 

The guard's armour blocks most of the shots, and he draws his sword, attempting to decapitate his attacker.

The guard who woke Ihra grabs a glass of water from the table and pours it over Ihra's face.

 

"We'll need a healer here." He shouts.

Another draconian comes running, magic pouring out of their hands.
"Standard rules are whoever dies or taps out. Don't get hit."

Ihra jolts awake, and the distortion leaps at her.
She wrestles with the distortion before she gets stabbed in the chest by his dagger, where the distortion leaps into the air, firing more bolts at the other guard.
After a brief chant, Ihra mutters to both guards.
"May ground no longer hold you. Chase him, please."
She then turns her focus on healing herself.

 

"Alright. I'll assume you can revive people then." I fasten on several of my bags, which contain nothing but bolts. I draw my sword and my crossbow. (Sword is on right, crossbow is on left hand)

 

"Correct."
A ring appears on the ground.
"Let's not trash her temple. Good luck to both combatants."
"How many attempts do you want? I guarantee you won't beat me on your first."

 

"Crap, I didn't want to do this." The guard says, summoning a pair of small bells to his hands. One bell is light blue, while the other is dark red.

The guard rings the red bell, and its chime reosnates true throughout the palace. He continues to ring it, and eventually, the sound of wolves howling can be heard in time with the chime.

A pair of massive wolves leap into the dining hall from a pair of dark portals, destroying the table the guards were sitting at. They growl at the distortion, making sure their intimidatingly sharp teeth are shown.

 

"Only two times. I'd rather not jeopardize my other attempts and my training from fatigue." I prepare the auto-loader. "Your move."

 

A barrier shields the rest of those eating from the chaos.
"I like your cards. Now, where's your king? He's the only other one who could tell you that you just made a mistake..."
The distortion fires a bolt at each of the wolves, one phasing directly from the crossbow to the wolf.

"Now... I only want the girl... after you stop blaming her."
The distortion teleports and rakes the guard who called Ihra a witch with claws imbued with light magic, leaping as he goes.

He pulls a crazy looking bow off his back and nocks... his broadsword?!
"You sure you don't want to go first?"

 

The bolts stick into the wolves, yet they seem fairly unaffected. One of the wolves leaps towards the distortion, grabbing it in its jaws and shaking it about before it gets to the guard.

The other wolf picks up Ihra using its mouth, and runs into a dark portal; the portal quickly closing behind.

 

"Look, I..."
Pause.
"I don't know if I know anyone. Anyone who made me or helped make is dead. I know a fellow robot that would know probably know a lot about mechanics, but his whereabouts are unknown to me. I'm really not sure about the group I'm traveling with right now. A blacksmith, a prophet, a medic, three guardians, an alchemist, a dragon, a seemingly powerful shadow, and me. Well, the seemingly powerful shadow might know something, but he's not here right now. He'll come back, but until then, I have no way of contacting him."
Another pause.
"At least, I think he'll come back."

 

The distortion just dissipates and rakes the guard anyways.
"Feed me... Keep feeding me..."
Two other wolves form, and they leap at and wrestle with the other ones.

-(Wherever Ihra is)-
"Please! No! I... I know how to beat him!"

Two of his blades dissolve.
"Hurry up"
"The Hive Master made the mistake of programming us with sentience. Most just accept killing because we've been made to seek survival. I was sent to kill someone who'd done absolutely nothing. I regret everything after that..."
"20"

"...I'm split. And, regardless of the outcome of this fight..."
"18"
"...I'm sorry."
He charges you, one blade held forward.

 

"I am, too."
I sheath my blade, and start flying away.
