Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Human form, yes. We went on a hunt, and I couldn't keep her from getting eaten... I broke her from the beast's grasp twice, but it wasn't enough... Aj told me to get them back here asap, so I did... I'm sorry..."

 

"Her majesty must be notified of this immediately, then." The large Shadow says, walking off quickly; he looks like he could break into a sprint any moment.

"Hopy sheet, Shadow Stephanie's a queeeeeen?" Abigail says drunkenly.

"That sounds terrible. I hope she isn't too badly wounded." Artemis says, clearly concerned.

Katie slides Ihra her glass of water, "I think you need this more than I." Katie says.

 

"I... It's okay, Katie... I need to learn to deal with these things."
She sits on the floor, whimpering and muttering something in what you're guessing is her native language.

 

Artemis seems rather concerned.

"I bet yoooooou 10 pounds...the queeeen is Shadow Stephhhanie!" Abigail says drunkenly.

"Um, excuse me, Miss Ihra, but would you like anything to eat or drink? You seem rather stressed." The Shadow next to Katie asks.

 

"Not anymore." She utters.

"I didn't mean it..." Ihra whimpers telepathically to Stephanie.

 

OOC: You mean Shadow Stephanie or...

No response.

"Oh...ok miss." The Shadow says.

"Is there anything we can do to make you feel better?" Artemis asks.

"'Ave some alcohol and drink yer prooooblems away!" Abigail says drunkenly, trying to give Ihra an empty bottle of whiskey. She drops it and the bottle smashes on the ground. A few Shadows appear and clean up the mess.

"No, I'll be fine."

 

"Didn't mean what? Oh, hold on, I have somebody to deal with." Shadow Stephanie responds.

"Really? You don't look too fine." Artemis says.

"We can get you anything you want, Miss Ihra." The Shadow says.

 

"I... I'll be fine. I promise.
...I hope."

 

Artemis seems rather concerned, but doesn't push any further. She simply goes back to sipping her apple juice.

"Gotta hold onto your hopes and dreeeeaaaaaaammmsss!" Abigail says drunkenly.

A Shadow walks up to Ihra and gives her a cushion, "We...thought you'd like something to sit on...other than the floor." He says somewhat nervously.

 

"Thanks."
She sits on the cushion, mood unchanging.

 

Everywhere becomes silent, apart from the occassional sip of juice or Abigail's nonsensical drunken slurs.

Artemis whispers something to the Shadow by Katie, having finished feeding Katie her food. The Shadow walks off and returns a few moments later.

"Here, Miss Artemis said you like this." The Shadow says, handing Ihra a pot of honey. The lid seems to have already been taken off.

 

She gives in. Her sour mood fades quickly to the taste of honey.
She smiles whilst downing it.

 

Artemis smiles, happy to see Ihra's mood change.

At the other end of the hall, Shadow Stephanie bursts through the doors. She still wears her royal clothing and crown, making no attempt to hide it from Artemis or the others, heading straight over to Ihra.

"Forking new she was a queeeen!" Abigail says drunkenly.

"I had no idea Shadow Stephanie was in such a position..." Artemis says, rather shocked.

"Is Aj the king then?" Katie wonders.

 

Ihra's distracted until she turns to see the door open, sees Shadow Stephanie, and suddenly looks terrified.
"I... I... Eep..."

 

Shadow Stephanie walks right up to Ihra, before sitting beside her.

"Ihra, I want you to tell me everything that happened leading up to Stephanie's harm." Shadow Stephanie says in and oddly calm and kind voice.

 

"Aj, Stephanie, and I went on a hunt because I wanted to see how strong the beasts were. We went, found one that looked like a fat bird, then things almost went well. Aj let himsef get eaten and cut the beast from inside. Stephanie got caught up twice; I was able to free her from its grip, but I couldn't use the spell fast enough to stop it from eating her after that... Then, I just tried to kill it before it killed her..."
She lays on Shadow Stephanie's lap, crying.
"Please don't kill me, I didn't mean for it to happen..."

 

"Alright. Thank you for telling me," Shadow Stephanie says, trying to console Ihra, "Stephanie's covered in deep wounds, most of her blood was leeched and whats left has been poisoned heavily, and her legs are completely broken."

"That sounds horrible! Is...does she stand a chance?" Artemis asks, shocked.

"We have some of the best doctors working on her. Her leg bones are being re-formed, she's under a blood transfusion and most of her poisoned blood has been removed." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Wh... what happens if she doesn't make it?
...She won't die, though... right?"

 

"She'll die for good. She's only human, which is why I have full priority on her," Shadow Stephanie says, "I'll also lose my name and form. I'd no longer look like who I am, and I wouldn't be called 'Shadow Stephanie' anymore."
