Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"It's inanimate." I say, drawing my sword and poking a wall.
OOC: inb4 some living wall bs

 

"Yeah. Hey, Aj, I... I'm sorry about that. I guess I overreacted. It was just... a bit sudden."

A shadow dragon swats the blade out of your hand, snarling at you from the wall.
"Suit yourself."
Emily walks back into the library with the dagger.

 

"I understand. I prefer to keep some parts of my life private; though I guess it can be quite jarring when you find out something as big as me being a king." I say.

"Your highness, Ihra wished to join you on one of the hunts." The guard says.

"Oh, really? Are you sure you want to?" I ask.

Stephanie just smiles; her chainsaw dripping with blood.

 

"I'm a backliner. How hard can support be?"

 

"Mind if we spar?" I ask casually.

 

It looks at you confused, then slinks back into the wall.

On closer inspection, most of the walls seem to have patterns of creatures hidden within.

 

"It's just...some of the beasts out there can be quite tough. I'd probably be beheaded if Ragnyon or the others found out you were killed here." I say.

"We were fighting that thing for a good hour and a half. They're not easy things to take down." Stephanie says.

 

"I guess that's the other half." I say, grabbing my sword and walking around a bit, attempting to find a training room.

 

"I'd think I could speed the process up. They're also weak to light, right?"

 

"It'd definitely help, but they're quite resistant to most forms of light." I say.

I suddenly realise something, and summon a necklace in my hand. A black, skull-shaped crystal hangs from it.

"Here, wear this." I say, giving Ihra the necklace.

 

After consulting the map, you find one near Xlentia's hoard.

An armored draconian stands guard outside.

"What does it do?"

 

"Greetings. I wish to train inside the training area." I say.

 

"It stops the negative effects of this realm from affecting you." Stephanie says, showing her own necklace. It's practically the same, but the crystal is shaped like a crown instead of a skull.

"I thought you'd need it, since what happened last time you were here."

 

"What do you wish to improve?"

"Oh... yeah, that'd help. Thanks."
She pauses.
"You know, the others are probably getting a bit worried...

...still, I'd like to try out one of these hunts before I go. If I can't beat one of those, I won't be able to become a goddess!"

 

"I guess we could try it alone. You know, more challenge and such. I doubt they'd be much tougher than what Stephanie and I took on." I say, smiling.

"Your highness, I would advise taking a few soldiers with you; or at least someone to get you back." The guard says.

"Ah, we'll be fine. Tell the queen we're out on a hunt." I say.

"Alright, your highness." The guard says, before turning and walking off.

"Hey Aj, can I keep this chainsaw?" Stephanie asks.

"Yeah, sure. Just don't cut your arm off." I say calmly.

"Thanks!" Stephanie says, a slight evil grin on her face.

 

"Woah, wait... Stephanie?! You have the others worried sick! Err... Not that it matters right now. I'll try to keep up."

 

"I'm glad at least a few people care for me," Stephanie says, "You know, there's a lot to learn from the culture of the Shadows."

I start heading back to the palace, "We'll need some mode of transport. Luckily, I have a quick and efficient one away from here." I say.

Stephanie starts following.

 

"What about the return trip?"

 

"I could probably carry you back if needed," I say, "You can glide, right?"

Stephanie admires her new chainsaw.

 

"I have something faster."
Ihra drops half of a crystal onto the ground.
"Area recall."
