Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

You end up losing your grip; the blades meet but neither breaks.
Except...
There's a noticeable mark on the blade.

"Yes, please."

 

OOC: Which blade is the mark on?

 

The guard opens the door before walking over to Ihra, holding his hand out.

"Come with me." The guard says.

 

OOC: The dagger.

Ihra does as told.
"Thank you!"

 

I take another deep breath, and attempt to cut it in half again, jumping and bringing down my sword on it, at the same time yelling.

 

"It's my duty, miss. You're an esteemed guest of the king and queen." The guard says, walking Ihra down the hallway.

The guard takes Ihra into a strange elevator, with multiple crystal dials. He turns a few of them, before turning the centre dial upside down. Everything goes black, and Ihra and the Guard find themselves outside of the palace. A large area in front of them, most likely the arena, contains a massive, terrifying beast. Multiple heads, tentacles, claws and spikes are amoung a few of it's features.

Stephanie and I can be just about seen fighting the beast.

 

The dent grows deeper, but your blade has dulled noticeably.

"And this is how they usually train?" Ihra seems intrigued by the beast.

 

OOC: Which dull? dull as in the light is dimmer, or dull as in the blade sort of got dented or something. (The Ice sword)
"Agh." I say, sheathing my sword as the light fades from it, panting. "That's the best I can do for now, lest I risk collapsing from fatigue." I take several deep breaths. "I can return next time to try again. I'll probably get further than this."
-Overworld-
"My other body managed to dent the knife, but he's too tired to continue."

 

"Yes, these beasts come from the more...uncivilised parts of our realm. They could easily kill those weak or unwary." The guard says.

The guard suddenly summons a large sheild in his hand and jumps in front of Ihra, blocking a stray spike launched from the beast's back. Stephanie seems to have just cut off one of the beast's heads with a chainsaw; causing black blood to fly everywhere.

 

OOC: Your blade's edge is noticeably less sharp.

"I can't believe you made progress on it... Thank you. I'll hold it in the Archives for now; it's on the twentieth floor, opposite the entrance. Come see me if you'd like to try more."

"Wow... though, that leaves one thing... once you break it, wouldn't the blade still be sharp?"

A barrier absorbs the spike before it hits the shield.
"People sometimes call me weak or unwary, but I'd be happy to help hunt. If you do those things."

 

"We often hunt these beasts to capture them for our soldiers to train on. I'm not sure if the king or queen would like you getting into danger, though." The guard says.

 

"Alright. One last thing: Do you know where a training area here in the palace is? I need to be able to deal equally powerful blows while not jeopardizing my sword."

"That may be, but at least it will be harder to use, since the wielder would have to hold the blade."

 

"Like? No, but I guarantee you that unless those things are immortal, your king has been with me through worse."

...but the egg horn.
...can't take her seriously...

"Literally walk up to someone in the halls and ask. Half the time you'll get someone willing to spar."

"True... but then, couldn't they just throw it?"

 

"They're immortal, but only in the sense they don't die from age. Other than that, they're incredibly tough beasts to take down." The guard says.

One of the beast's clawticles falls in front of Ihra and the Guard. It seems to melt away almost instantly.

OOC: Clawticle - Claw Tentacle.

 

"That's for if I want to spar. I'm asking for if and when I want to just train my body and my sword skills without sparring with someone. Like...a barracks or something. Or can I just start practicing in the halls, attacking walls and such." I say, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

"That's actually a good point. I guess that's the part where they will just keep the knife under high security and the like."

 

"Eugh... I'm done arguing."

"Oh. I... I don't know."

"Well, at least it won't be as easily handled."

 

"Alright. I'm off to kill a wall." I say, walking out into the hallways.

"True, true."

 

"You could ask the king or queens permission to come, if you'd like. I'm not in a position of authority over you." The guard says.

A while later, the beast finally falls. Blood gushing from it's severed heads and limbs. Stephanie and I slide down from the beast, heading towards Ihra and the Guard. We both seem fairly free of blood; my royal clothing practically unstained.

Stephanie seems to be wearing a dark purple dress and black boots, and holds a menacing looking chainsaw.

 

"The wall won't appreciate that..."

"It's fine."
She waves at you and Stephanie

 

Stephanie waves back as she approaches, smiling.

"Hey Ihra! Didn't know you were here!" Stephanie says happily.

"I'm glad to see you're awake." I say, smiling.
