"Why would everyone need to be on patrol?"

"No, no! Pyk's puppetmaster is, though..."

 

"I don't know. I just have this mental image that every draconian in this palace is able to pick up weapons and fight at any given time."

"Though what?"

 

"Well, that mental image is wrong."

"Though some of the others might be alive as well. And that'd mean they probably want to kill me."

 

"I see. Well, I have one thing to tell to you. If your master is listening, fine enough, but if your master isn't, relay it to her, ok?"

"Should I tell Pyk that you're alive?"

 

"She's listening."

"No. No you really shouldn't."

 

"Now he's a dragon and that human, it's even more confusing for me..."

"What was it like, back then? Ruling a nation, having people bow to you... I'm curious."

"Alright. Then, Master of Pyk. There is a certain something I must tell you...have a nice day." I say, grinning.

"Alright, good. I was able to stop my body in time from selling you out."

 

"It's quite large; especially since it's been scaled to fit beings twenty times a normal size," Shadow Stephanie says, "We have many rooms devoted to multiple things. It's a shame you didn't bring Ruby with you; I'm sure she'd like our library."

After quite a bit of walking through multiple rooms and hallways, Shadow Stephanie and Ihra come to a set of smaller than usual doors. Shadow Stephanie walks through, and a room with beds, jacuzzis and various other relaxing areas is revealed. Strangely, only the room size seems to be scaled up.

The Shadow possesses you, and she takes control of your arms and mouth, causing you to start eating the soup.

"Just tell me when you want to stop. I don't want to remove your control over your body." The Shadow says in your mind.

 

"You're hiding something."

"YOU WERE WHAT?!

"I thought shadows were like... you sized."

 

"Not exactly. Our sizes can change, and forms tend to define one. Depending on how powerful we are, though, our size can change. Most kings and queens stay at twenty times a normal size, due to the amount of power you need to be elected to be one." Shadow Stephanie says.

A Shadow walks over to the pair, "How may I help you, my queen?" He asks.

"Ihra and I would both like massages. We've both been through quite a bit of stress." Shadow Stephanie says.

"Ah, very good, yes. Might I ask the pair of you remove your clothing to a suitable level for the massage?" The Shadow asks.

"Come on, Ihra. Let's go get changed." Shadow Stephanie says, heading towards a pair of doors at the other end of the room.

 

"As a matter of the fact, yes. My weapons as well as several other things." I say, gesturing to my cloak. "Well, if everything's done and all, I think I'll get onto looking for reading material."

"Pyk, and to an extent her master, is onto me." I say, ignoring Ruby's exclamation.

 

"How do I remove my robe?"

"I hope our paths don't intertwine. Good luck in your search."

"Uh...you take it off your body?" Shadow Stephanie says, confused.

Heading through the doors leads to a set of 2 changing rooms. The right one has what looks to be man symbol, and the left a woman. Shadow Stephanie heads into the left room, holding the door open for Ihra. From the perspective of the door, it leads into a community changing room.

 

"Thank you." I say, slightly bowing from force of habit, before exploring the library for any accounts in my language.

"Yes, though luckily my other body was able to successfully deny things."

 

I follow Opal out of the village.

 

"Apparently he said something about his dragon form being good while the human form being evil, but everyone else seems to think he's the other way roumd. Yes, it is confusing..."

"At first it was just a normal kingdom, very like the Darklands. The only difference was that my kingdom was made up of outcast Fellakans and Runetrels, and a few Nymians as Fellakans have always had a strong hatred for them. It started very small, building houses out of wood from the east part of the island. We soon realised that everyone, except for me, was trapped, as the boats the others used to arrive there were almost completely useless. Food, water and health weren't a problem because of any magic we had and also because of the Birthlake, a magical lake of healing water surrounded by lots of fantastic plants. Our houses were on the north side of the island, and we started making plans for boats and the frames. While there were no metals on the island, or very little, we used stone or unusually strong and large seeds for bolts and other things we might need. Of course, some of us already had weapons should any outsiders find us. That was how it started. Years later, Hythania arrived after she decided to search for the Wild Islands and brave their dangers. We accepted her and she later became my wife. Many thousands of generations passed, and I started to argue with Eras when he visited me. He doesn't like change. By then, half of the island was made of floating wooden docks and we had a large stone city. But we had expanded for more than we should have, so these added together for need of invasion. I also hated the Darklands still, so in the end I sent my fleet to attack them, but Eras saved them before I could do any damage. And that saved Aurilon too."

I say, "Very well.", in the Shadow's mind.

 

"Do you like the soup? We tried to make it as best we could." The Shadow says as she helps you eat.

The soup does taste quite good.

 

I say telepathically, "Ah yes, fantastic! I'd forgot how good eating was..."

 

((If I actually took the broadsword...))
"But... You are the rapier, yes?"

The energy passes through the ghosts, and slices through a small part of the bone dragon. They don't look put off by it.

Uthrail says something under his breath, and a vortex of lightning bolts race for Vei.
