Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Fuwe."
"Ihra, don't talk with your mouth full."

 

"Most people find it annoying. Personally, I don't, when I can actually understand the person."
Pause.
"Which I couldn't, Ihra, so just chew for a little bit first."

 

*a minute or so later*
"Sure. Sorry."

 

I hand Ihra another apple.
"You've had apples before, right?"
I ask.

 

"No."
She stops trying to eat it like you were and just smashes the entire thing in one chomp, then proceeds to chew.

 

"Typically people take slow bites of one, until it's small enough to throw the tiny core away, and they also don't eat the stem, but whatever doesn't destroy your teeth or kills your insides works, I guess."
I say, watching her chew.

 

"Hah! I've been going easy on you."

As the water hits, a cloud of steam erupts. Once it clears, Q is visible wearing a suit of armor that covers his entire body. It's been scaled oddly to fit Q's size.

"Let's do this."
His voice echoes from within the armor.

 

Liquid apple dribbles out the side of her mouth, and she looks at you nervously (realizing that it happened), swallowing.
"I forgot about, you know, not needing to take little bites. Also, it kind of doesn't last a moment to my spit."
She spits on the ground, and it melts away.

 

"Well, as long as you don't hurt yourself, I'm fine with you eating anything the way you want to. But I'm still giving apples out to others. If you're going to search for some on your own, they grow on trees."
I say, before turning to Shadow Aj.

"Want an apple?"
I say to Shadow Aj.

 

"They grow on trees? I thought leaves grew on trees!"
"Ihra, please. You're a bit old for this."
"That doesn't answer the question!"

 

"Not in as big clusters on trees, but on certain trees, a certain type of flower can grow. And then sometimes, that certain flower can create fruits, or in this case, apples. There are several different flowers that can do this. Maybe Artemis can explain it better, she seems to know more about plants than I."

"And you're never too old for anything. Some people tend to think so, but in reality, not really."
I add.

 

"Maybe, but Myria might be good too. If she's able to teach Artemis, she probably knows a little more about plants."

 

"Perchance. But from what I've heard, Myria's a death guardian, Artemis is a bit of a death guardian and a life guardian."
Pause.
"If I got my terminology correct."

 

"Still, aren't they a bit reversible or something?"

 

"Maybe. It's even less of my subject then every precise detail on how apples grow. One of them will know, anyways."

 

"Your move." I say stepping back, still unarmed.

 

Q runs at you and punches you straight in the face.

 

"Wait, how does he manage to pull an entire world into Oblivion?"

"That might not be far off the truth."

I fly up into the air and Daras and the wyvern follow.
We fly back towards the group.

Arnold reads the note.

 

"He tore our world apart long ago; the few floating bits of it are only still intact because he can't keep the mages of the Resistance from counteracting the gravitational pull; which is easily enough to tear us apart."

"I know... I just wish Ihra could've lived like the children here do. Not in fear."

Reed trails, but as the sun sets, his eyes start to glow.

"He was really weird, actually. He was like...above a paradox, being able to directly interfere with reality." I say, picking up a burrito to look at it.

"It wasn't a hallucination." Artemis says.

"Stephanie's a human." I say.

"Yes, please." I say.
