At sunrise, everything's still quiet.

 

OOC: Are they underground? And is there some kind of opening I can use to get to them?

 

They're not, but Artemis and her mother are.

 

OOC: Good enough.
The cloaked man and me walk over to Ruby. "I've got the materials." The cloaked man says.

 

She's currently being healed by Ihra, who you creep out.

 

I dump a block of ice on the ground. "Drake over here will breathe darkness once needed. Essentially a dagger made of ice and darkness, as sharp as possible while still being as light as possible." The cloaked man says to Ruby.

 

"I'll let her know. What will you give in return? You see what it did to her."

 

"What she requests of me." The cloaked man says, "Of course, not anything, just certain requests."

 

"Figured. It'd be great if you could let us get her back up and moving... Also, she'll need time to rest before she goes back to the forge."

 

"Fine." The cloaked man sits on the ground. I watch the process intently.

It's... Like watching grass grow. But with sigils. And even less is happening.

Abigail hops into the pool, ready to help Ruby out when she's healed.

"Are you feeling better now?" I think.

Stephanie doesn't seem to be paying attention to what's going on; focused on her drawing.

OOC: Artemis and Myria aren't underground, they're just far away.

 

The cloaked man continues watching, though it kind of looks like he's meditating. His hood covers his face well enough that it's hard to tell.

 

I send the men in the best condition to scout the area, and lay traps around the perimeter of the village.

 

I try memorizing the sigils.

 

"Yeah, much."
Ruby floats on the surface, weary.
"I think I'll opt for being more careful next time. Both extremes in one day... Oh boy."

The scouts return with nothing. It's clear.


You've got about forty traps set.

Not only is it pointless, it's difficult. Even as a robot, you struggle to remember them as dozens upon dozens pass, appear, fade, etc...

 

"I'm glad. I didn't want to be responsible for another death." I think.

Abigail swims over, "Need any help?" She asks.

 

"Yeah... just don't get caught in my horns."

 

Abigail helps Ruby above the surface of the lava pool, mindful of her horns.

"Thanks for the upgraded claws and gauntlets, they look way cooler than before!" Abigail says happily.

"Haven't you already thanked Ruby, Abigail?" I ask.

"Nothing wrong with being appreciative." Abigail replies.
